You Can Now Get A Canadian-Exclusive Ram 1500 Sport In The USA?

Well, Kind Of...

Since its introduction in February of 2018, people have bombarded both the MoparInsiders.com and 5thGenRams.com e-mail asking if the United States will ever get the Canadian-exclusive Ram 1500 Sport trim-level. Ram enthusiasts seemed to love the black accents on the monochromatic look of the Ram 1500 models for Canada. However, since the introduction of the Canadian-exclusive model, Ram has unveiled two new Night Edition packages for the 2020 model year that have seemed to satisfy some.  For others who don’t like the addition of the black grille on the Night Edition models, they have been begging for something with the looks of the Sport.

While it doesn’t look like the United States is getting the Canadian-exclusive package anytime soon, we have recently seen that it is now possible to obtain one of these highly sought after trucks, stateside.

Since the production of the 2019 model year ran from January 2018 to June 2019, some of the people who purchased their trucks on leases and/or are the type to switch vehicles every couple of years are now starting to turn their vehicles in. With Canada having a fraction of the population of the United States, a lot of Canada’s used car inventory is exported to the United States with small changes to meet requirements and put up for sale for various dealers.

Recently, the 5thGenRams.com staff has spotted a few used 2019 Ram 1500 Sport models for sale on various sites like Cars.com and AutoTrader.com. Now, while there is no “Sport” specific model available in the United States, the Canadian Sport is considered an equivalent of the Rebel, sitting between the Big Horn and Laramie trim-levels. So if you are looking for one of these Canadian trucks, usually they will be marked as a Rebel.

Now, as a truck that fits between the Big Horn and Laramie, the Canadian-exclusive Sport does have more standard features than a Big Horn, but you will be missing out on a few features you simply can’t get without stepping up to the Laramie. But if you are on a budget and looking for that certain look, you can find these trucks across the United States on used lots. One dealer in Findlay, Ohio actually has two of them sitting on their lot right now as this article is being written, a Blue Streak one and a Bright White one.

So for those wanting to get their hands on one of these trucks, it is possible.
