One of the forbidden fruits for Americans starting in 2019 is the Sport trim level of the all-new Ram 1500s. While you can option a Big Horn or a Laramie with the Sport package, to get blacked out accents like the Canadian Sport you have to choose the Black Package which is only available with black paint. I have a 2019 Ram 1500 Canadian Sport Model. It is a very nice looking truck for sure. I am disappointed to hear that the 12inch display will now be available later this year. When I purchased mine, it only could be purchased with the 8.4 inch screen. There was no indication or discussion of the 12inch becoming available for the Sport edition. I wonder where it can now go with the Sport edition if you can purchase an upgrade?
We all gotta convince RAM to offer this Canuck-only Sport trim in the US. Especially if we could get it with the advance Safety Group, Leather, and 12″ screen. It is just too darn hard and more expensive to try to build an equivalent in the US. I’d order one tomorrow if it was available in the US. I intend to go to the NY auto show and convince the RAM NA reps into taking a position on offering it in the US.
