TFLTruck.com Shows Us Some New Leaked Images Of The Upcoming Ram TRX:

Ram Touts TRX Image In Its New Supercharged Off-Road...

Our friends over at TFLTruck.com, have gotten their hands on some awesome leaked pictures of the new 2021 Ram 1500 Rebel TRX.  These photos are giving us our best look at some of the goodies underneath the skin of the new HELLCAT-powered off-roader, which should be making its debut soon. However, we thought we would breakdown the photos and give you our insight into the new photos.

The first photo we are going to look at is of the new console-mounted shifter. 5thGenRams.com originally broke the news about the new console-mounted shifter back in March (paddle-shifters which aren’t shown, will also be added to the back of the steering wheel). We are also getting our first look at the new Trailer Steering system for the 2021 model year. The system will allow owners to back up their trailers using the 360-degree surround-view camera system via the 12-inch Uconnect screen. The new system will work very similar to Ford’s “Pro Trailer Backup Assist” system. The new Trailer Steering system eliminates the beloved toggle switches Ram owners have praised and instead a new auxiliary bank of four switches will be located to the right of the system, the bank will also include buttons for turn off switches for the front and rear parking sensors.

In the second photo, we get a better look at that Trailer Steering knob. The knob is placed directly at the bottom center of the instrument panel (I/P) compared to Ford’s location, which would be where the rotary-dial shifter is located on most new Ram Trucks.

While the third photo doesn’t show us much, it does show us the large 2.3-liter IHI supercharger on top of the 6.2-liter HEMI HELLCAT V8. The blower features integral charge coolers and an integrated electronic bypass valve to regulate boost pressure to a maximum of 80 kPa (11.6 psi). Our sources have been telling us from the announcement of the production of the TRX, that the new supercharged off-road will make the full 707 horsepower output of the HELLCAT engine, compared to the detuned 575 horsepower rating of the concept.

In the fourth picture, we get our look at what will sit on top of the HELLCAT engine and that is a new Ram Air intake. In order for the HELLCAT to get that maximum cooling in the Ram 1500, the SRT engineering team has mounted a system similar to the Mopar Ram Airflow cold-air intake system that is available for the 5.7-liter HEMI V8.

The fifth photo shows us the design of the TRX front seats. We can see the black leather and Alcantara seats that 5thGenRams.com has mentioned before. But now, the bold TRX is prominent and located towards the top of the seat, where the headrest inserts in. Red piping adds a more racy look to the interior.

The last photo, that TFLTruck.com got their hands on is of the pop-up divider located inside the center console. Those who are familiar with the 5th generation of Ram 1500, know that the piece features the four generations of Ram half-ton trucks before the new 5th generation (DT) model. However, for the TRX, the Ram design team has gone crazy with their easter egg touches. Featured prominently is the new TRX, if you look closely, you can see the vents in front of the front doors that we mention in our previous post and that harkens back to the Rebel TRX Concept truck.

If you are a fan of the Steven Speilberg film “Jurassic Park”, then you will love this easter egg. Located in the back of the TRX is the same cage to transport the Velociraptors (raptor) to their secure pen in the very first scene of the first Jurassic Park movie. The scene is the one where a park worker is grabbed by one of the raptors and Game Warden, Robert Muldoon screams for the park’s security team to “SHOOT HER”! Well, no worries about a Raptor getting the best of this Ram.

Continuing with the easter eggs, if you look behind the truck, it looks like the silhouette of Jurassic Park’s main character Dr. Alan Grant. The trademark hat gives that detail away. Located in front of the truck is a massive Tyrannosaurus Rex (also know at the T-Rex the nickname of the new Ram off-roader) showcases its true size compared to the new 2021 Ram 1500 Rebel TRX model. Underneath that T-Rex is a real-life scale version of the Velociraptor. While the Jurassic Park franchise has made the raptor into a larger than human predator, the true average size of a raptor was just under two feet tall.  So this easter egg showcases the TRX and taunts the Ford F-150 Raptor, in this cleverly hidden detail.

We can’t wait to get our hands on one of these new supercharged Ram TRX. Production is expected to be in October now, due to the delay in part with production shutdown due to the COVID-19 (or Coronavirus) pandemic

Special thanks to TFLTruck.com, for letting us use their images.
