RECALL: Ram Recalls 37 2022 MY Ram 1500s For Missing Airbag Sensor

B-Pillar Impact Sensor May Be Missing...

Stellantis (FCA US, LLC) is recalling approximately 37 units of its 2022 Ram 1500 (DT) pickups due to B-pillar impact sensors that may be missing. The issue could result in delayed airbag deployment or non-deployment. Airbags that do not deploy as intended to increase the risk of injury in a crash.

If the B-pillar impact sensor is missing, the vehicle will sound a chime, display a cluster message at start-up, and constantly display an airbag warning light. If these warnings are not heeded, and the vehicle is involved in a side impact, delayed airbag deployment or non-deployment may increase the risk of occupant injury.

FCA US says the suspect period began on April 11th, 2022, when a B-pillar impact sensor shortage started, and ended on April 13th, 2022, when the shortage ended. The automaker said it used field data and vehicle production records to determine the suspect period.
