Ram releases July U.S sales numbers

July sales up 1% over last year, yearly sales down 6%

Ram released their July 2018 sales numbers today with the news that sales were up 1% compared to July of last year. Ram sold 40,276 pickups last month compared to 39,708 compared to last July. Overall sales for the year are down by 6% with 273,815 trucks sold compared to 290,151 in July of last year.

We’re now at 80%, 85% to full production. We’re now beginning to bring on a number of the options that were scheduled later in production as the ramp-up improved, including the full range of powertrains. And I think what we’re now working on is the focus to bring those options on and, as I think both Richard and I said, we’ll be in full production in fourth quarter. – Michael Manley FCA CEO regarding 2019 Ram 1500 production – FCAs 2nd quarter earnings call, July 25, 2018

Production is still ramping up on the all new 2019 Ram 1500 with production now at 80-85% according to FCA CEO Mike Manley. Overall we expect sales numbers to pick up going forward as more configurations of the all new Ram 1500 land on dealer lots. Early builds were mostly high dollar top trim trucks, with more mid level and entry level trims landing on dealer lots within the past month.

Our sales chart below shows how Ram is doing compared to the competition. GM reports sales every quarter so we will add them to the list when they report next on October 1st.
