Ram Breaks Sales Records In South America For 2021 Model Year!

Ram Truck Brand Continues To Grow Outside North American Market...

Ram continues on its successful trajectory in the country of Brazil, breaking another sales record. Last year, 2,760 vehicles were licensed, representing a growth of 87.1% compared to 2020, which had been the best for the brand so far. This performance places Ram as the premium manufacturer that grew the most in Brazil throughout 2021, with a large advantage (the second-highest increase in this segment was 26%).

In addition, in the price range in which it operates, above R$ 400,000 (or about $72,200 USD), the Ram brand was in third place – having led in five months of last year. And, within that universe, the Ram 2500 Laramie was simply the best-selling vehicle in the country, with 2,227 units.

“These numbers show that Ram’s strategy, with exclusive products and made according to the needs of our customers, managed to overcome even the numerous challenges that occurred in 2021”, says Breno Kamei, Ram’s Director for South America. “This was only possible because of our partnership with dealers and, of course, the launch of products such as the unprecedented 1500 Rebel and the special edition 2500 Rodeo.”

It is worth adding that Ram came to appear in a few months among the ten best-selling brands in the light commercials ranking last year and ended 2021 two positions above compared to 2020, in 14th.

With the first units delivered at the end of April, the Ram 1500 Rebel ended last year with 533 registered units. The performance and pleasure provided by the 5.7-liter HEMI® V8, associated with the striking design and all the technology, also guaranteed the model the title of “2022 Pickup of the Year” by Autoesporte magazine, the most traditional award of the Brazilian automotive press.

The Ram 2500 Laramie remains the brand’s flagship, up 51% over the previous year. The largest pickup in the country also stood out for its share rising from 3.3% to 4.8% in the premium segment as a whole. In the list of best-selling prestige brand vehicles, 2500 rose from ninth to the sixth position. Another highlight of the 2500 last year was the launch of the special edition Rodeo, whose 100 units sold out in just 10 hours.

It is also important to point out that, even with intense local restrictions, Ram remained ahead in the full-size pickup truck segment in the second-largest country in South America (Argentina). In 2021, the brand won a 65.9% share in the segment, with 1,187 vehicles registered in the Argentine market.
