A few weeks ago we showed you spy photos of a 2019 Ram 1500 export model, that was doing some testing around the Metro Detroit area which looked to be equipped with a Pentastar eTorque powertrain. Now we have gotten our hands on some close up spy photos of which looks like a 2019 Ram 1500 Limited powertrain mule.
2019 Ram 1500 Limited (Real Fast Fotography)Currently, the 2019 Ram 1500 (DT) Limited model comes standard with the 5.7-liter HEMI V8. Optional is the 5.7-liter HEMI V8 with eTorque. A 3.0-liter ECODIESEL V6 model will be added to the lineup some time during the 2019 calendar year. All Limited models come standard with dual-rear bumper exhaust. The optional ECODIESEL offering on the Ram 1500 (DS) Limited models also had dual-rear bumper exhaust as well, along with its HEMI offerings.
This model caught testing lacks not only the dual-rear bumper exhaust, but the prominent 5.7-liter HEMI text under the new 1500 badges on the hood were also missing.
This is not the first time we have seen this. Real Fast Fotography also shot some pictures of a holding lot at the Sterling Heights Assembly Plant (SHAP) where the new 2019 Ram 1500 is built, for us a few months ago. In one of the photos, one of our forum members pointed out that a certain Ram 1500 Limited pickup lacked dual-rear exhaust.
If Ram does decide to offer the Limited model with a standard 3.6-liter Pentastar V6 with eTorque, if would make perfect sense. Ram has been under fire about the pricing of their new trucks being “more expensive” than the outgoing models. However, with new technology and tooling to assemble the trucks. Not to mention new features offered on the 2019 Ram 1500 that aren’t available on the outgoing DS models, prices have risen. Adding the Pentastar as a standard powertrain, would drop the price of Ram’s most luxurious and expensive model. The 5.7-liter HEMI V8 currently adds about $1,200 to the price tag of the 2019 Ram 1500.
