Hennessey Performance Will Build A Limited Run Of 1,000 Horsepower TRX SUVs:

Limited Edition Mammoth 1000 SUV, Won't Be Cheap...

Hennessey Performance Engineering (HPE) has been on a roll recently, with a ton of Hellcat-powered projects going on. Now, the Texas tuner shop has announced plans to build a limited run SUV based on their Mammoth 1000 package for the Ram 1500 TRX.

The purposed SUV design that HPE has put forth, doesn’t look as good as the rendering designed by our friend wb.artist20 that we showcased back in August of last year. We still aren’t sure if the SUV build from the TRX body will be done in-house or will be sent out to a specialty shop to create a true three-row full-size SUV.

The Mammoth 1000 (HPE1000) performance upgrade has already seen its way under the hood of several Challenger and Charger SRT Hellcat models, as well as the Hellcat-powered Jeep® Grand Cherokee Trackhawk

The performance upgrade includes an upgraded supercharger, pulley upgrades, stainless-steel headers, high-flow exhaust, and HPE tuning. The package should be good to push the TRX’s Hellcat engine to 1,012 horsepower and 969 lb.-ft. of torque. That is an improvement of 310 horsepower and 319 lb.-ft. of torque over the stock output.

“I have a big family with five kids and have always enjoyed owning big, powerful SUVs. In 2012, we converted the first-generation Ford Raptor into our VelociRaptor SUV – I still own one today and love it,” said John Hennessey, Founder and CEO. “Now, we are excited to offer something very similar, but with a lot more horsepower, using the new Ram TRX truck as our base vehicle. Creating this king of SUVs offers our customers the ultimate combination of space, power, and exclusivity.”

The new SUV will also include the Mammoth Off-Road Stage 1 package. The package will have numerous off-road goodies including a 2.5-inch lift, custom front bumper with integrated LED lights, 20-Inch Hennessey 10-spoke wheels, 35-Inch off-road tires, power running boards, and a front suspension leveling kit.

HPE expects the new SUV should have similar performance numbers to the truck-based Mammoth 1000 package. The Mammoth 1000 pickup is capable of putting down a 0 to 60 mph time of 3.2 seconds and able to run the quarter-mile in 11.4 @ 120 mph. In its stock form, the TRX is capable of 4.5 seconds and a quarter-mile of 12.9 seconds at 108 mph.

As a turn-key product, the Mammoth 1000 SUV will have a starting price of $375,000 (excluding destination and taxes). Only 20 units will be built, each fitted with serial numbered plaques indicating just how limited of a run the SUV will be. Each SUV will also come with a 3-year, 36,000-mile warranty. Pre-ordering has opened at limited build, which you can place through Hennessey-authorized Ram dealers or Hennessey itself.
