Hennessey Adds Overlanding Package For Their 1,012 Horsepower TRX MAMMOTH 1000!

Overlanding is continuing to grow in popularity since the start of the pandemic. The idea behind overlanding is to include a multi-day, week, or month trip under lightly explored territory to remote locations and being self-reliant in those unfamiliar places.

Now Texas-based Hennessey Performance Engineering (HPE) is offering a new overland package for its high-performance Ram 1500 TRX-based MAMMOTH performance truck lineup.

The tailored Overland Edition includes a wide range of user-friendly equipment for truck-based living. The modular system utilizes a robust TRX bed rack as its foundation, topped by a convenient hard-shell rooftop tent that takes mere minutes to set up. A retractable 55-inch awning provides shade and shelter, while auxiliary fuel tanks and a pressurized water reservoir are also mounted on the rack to increase range and utility. Other accessories include a 28-inch splitting axe, shovel, and LED perimeter illumination. Grab handles, and a retractable ladder improve accessibility to the tent and equipment. 

The Hennessey MAMMOTH 1000 package includes an upgraded supercharger, pulley upgrades, stainless-steel headers, high-flow exhaust, and HPE tuning. The package should be good to push the TRX’s Hellcat engine to 1,012 horsepower and 969 lb.-ft. of torque. That is an improvement of 310 horsepower and 319 ft.-lb. of torque over the stock output. 

The MAMMOTH 1000 also includes the MAMMOTH Off-Road Stage 1 package, numerous off-road goodies including a 2.5-inch lift, custom front bumper with integrated LED lights, 20-inch Hennessey 10-spoke wheels, aggressive 35-inch off-road tires, and a front suspension leveling kit. A retractable electronic bed cover and power fold-out steps are also included. 

Overlanding customers will typically specify the MAMMOTH Off-Road Stage 2 package for their TRX. This package adds robust custom bumpers, vision-boosting LED lights, a front leveling kit, gnarly 37-inch off-road tires, and upgraded electronic fold-out steps.
