FCA Appoints Reid Bigland As CEO of Ram Brand:

Bigland Returns To Run Ram Brand...

Since taking over as CEO of Fiat Chrysler Automobiles (FCA), Mike Manley has had his plate full.  Manley who was put in the position early because of the late Sergio Marchionne health conditions, has not just been running the entire company but still conducting his past duties as well. For the past 60 days, Manley has been running the Jeep and Ram brands, he was also in charge of the Asia-Pacific (APAC) region for FCA and was interm COO of the European-market (EMEA) after Alfredo Altavilla left the company when he found out that Manley was getting the CEO job instead of him.

Last month, FCA announced there would be some change ups in the management lineup to help the company tackle it’s 5-year plan goals it announced on June 1st. Well this morning, Manley announced his changes in an e-mail to FCA employees.

Manley, has placed Reid Bigland in charge of the Ram brand for global operations. If that name sounds familiar, that is because Bigland led the brand in the not so recent past.

Bigland has a number of current titles with the company. He is also Head of U.S. Sales, which he was appointed to in June 2011, where he has full responsibility for sales strategy, dealer relations and operations, order facilitation, incentives and fleet and field operations. In addition, he serves as Chairman, President and Chief Executive Officer of FCA Canada, a position he was named to in July 2006. He was named a member of the Group Executive Council (GEC) for FCA in September 2011.

Manley stated this in his e-mail to employees about the move…

Reid Bigland is named Head of Ram Brand. Reid previously led the Ram Brand in 2013 – 2014 which, under his leadership, experienced sales growth of nearly 50 percent. With the new Ram Light Duty Truck nearing full production and the new Ram Heavy Duty planned to come to market in mid-2019, Reid has the right products and the skills to take Ram to the next level. Reid will maintain his roles leading our Canadian operations and U.S. sales.

Bigland is very passionate about the Ram brand. While he was at the helm of the brand, Ram Commercial was created and launched the ProMaster and ProMaster City lineup of commercial vehicles. As well as the popular Ram 1500 EcoDiesel pickups.
