Man Mopar wants a lot of money for the factory wireless charging unit. Well I bought a nice thin one, command strips, and a new cable and made my own. What do you guys think?

$13 out of my pocket for the charger. Everything else I had laying around.

If I didn’t have it already, I’d just pony up and buy Mopar’s. But that’s just me.

I power it at that outlet

My only problem is I have the safe. Then moving the slider back and fourth requires slack in the cable. I also use this cubby a lot and need a designated spot for my phone where only it belongs. Which is why I tried to incorporate the method I used.
On my previous trucks I’ve deconstructed the Qi chargers and taken the thin charging coils and placed it under pieces of rubber or plastic to conceal it factory style. Might see about take the dash apart and getting it behind where mine it laid. Qi coils can travel 10-14mm through plastic and charge a phone efficiently.

I have that same charger on my nightstand. I was going to do that exact same thing you did with it, but I haven't had time to try it yet (okay, actually I'm a little lazy right now). I'm glad to see I wasn't the only one thinking about trying that. How well does it work for you?

Now that I have my wireless Apple CarPlay I’ve been sliding my phone into the phone holder. Haven’t missed the charger yet. Works fantastic! No more cables and my phone is charged all day again. Love it. I think it doesn’t really look too bad. You don’t see it with the console slid closed or with my phone on it.

New to the Forum and got allot of good ideas on here. here's one I came of with. I bought a Tesla 3 charging pad off Ebay and installed it in the bottom and its held there with
3M tape doesn't ever move. gave me 2 more places to charge. because my wife's phone wouldn't fit in the factory one. hope i posted this in the right place. Truck.jpg Ram2.jpg

Is that a CD player or just a slot? I have a CD player in mine but looks different. Or maybe I’m just too drink.

Location of factory wireless charger blocks signal 1/2 the time + CarPlay requires wired connection, so I basically almost never use it.

Its the phone. I had a Samsung S8+ up til last week and it was very picky as to where it had to be placed to charge. I replaced that phone with a new Samsung S21 Ultra and it charges anywhere I place it other than upside down

Works for me all the time. Maybe your provider, location, or your phone? Maybe.

I like it Rowbaretow, do you have an info on the charger as I'd like to do the same.
