Vararam installed - spacer + radiator cover, or no cover at all?

I'd like to maintain the radiator cover. What can I use for spacers? If I use spacers and do it right, will there be any performance difference vs leaving the cover off?

Also, did you guys leave your engine cover on?

Any ideas what to do with all the space left from the stock air box?

Did a search, just not seeing the answers I'm looking for.

I have already read that post, but it doesn't really detail much about the spacers or anything. I was looking to get feedback from people that have done both ways.
