I would like to order this tow hitch mounted led light mount to use as reverse lights.

https://www.ebay.com/itm/Tow-Hitch-...775771&hash=item1a558bf568:g:SXsAAOSw44BYPmE4

Is it safe to use a 7 pin trailer towing connector to power these so I don't have to cut and splice wires on the truck? Is there anything I need to watch out for such as amps or wattage? Please see video below

It may depend on the truck, but I read a review (via Amazon or eBay) on a similar hitch-mounted light that complained about the truck reading the light as if it were a trailer, and giving some warnings as a result...just FYI.

Just curious, did you end up pulling the trigger on this? I have a super dark driveway and when I leave for work in the morning the back up lights aren’t sufficient in the rear view camera.

Have you replaced the backup light bulbs with leds yet? Easy mod, $10 or less for the bulbs. There are threads on it here give me a sec...

I did order and install the trailer hitch mount along with some cheap senlips led pods off ebay.

The best $40 i've spent. Excellent lights and mount fit perfectly. I used a 7 pin trailer end replacement to wire my backup lights and bed lights using the leads from the trailer harness.

There is an AUX lead that has constant power on the trailer harness which I wired to a toggle switch in the bed where the OEM led light should be installed. I can turn on and off the lights as I please even without the truck being on. I wired the backup light to the reverse light lead in the trailer harness which powers the led pod lights on the hitch mount. There is even a ground provided on the trailer harness so there is minimum wiring, effort and time involved with the installation.
