What is everybody doing for tint? Just the front two or all the way around? What percent? 15% or 20%?

30 is as low as NYS will allow for fronts....but I have read people on forums doing 20 to match the rears.

The last two trucks I've gone 35% in front to be closer to the 50% limit in WI. I will do the same on my new Ram....

20% to match the rears. I've never been hassled over it.

Does your state require this to be looked at during inspection? Freaking NY in theory does now.

Can I have tinted windows on my vehicle?
Effective January 1st 2017, examination of tinted or shaded windows will be required during motor vehicle inspections. A video about this change is available on YouTube.
Section 375 (12-a) of the NYS Vehicle and Traffic Law does not allow a windshield or front side windows that are dark.
  • The windshield and front side windows cannot block more than 30% of the light.
    • Seventy percent or more of the light from the outside must pass through the window.
  • This law also applies to the rear window unless the vehicle has outside rear-view mirrors on both sides.
    • The mirrors must give the driver a full and clear view behind the vehicle.
  • Rear side windows must also allow at least seventy percent of light from the outside to pass through the window if the vehicle is classified as a
    • station wagon
    • sedan
    • hardtop
    • coupe
    • hatchback
    • convertible
A vehicle falls into one of these categories if it is labeled “Passenger Car” on the Federal ID label found on the left front door panel.
It is illegal to sell, offer for sale, or install glass that does not comply with this law. It is illegal to operate a vehicle with glass that does not comply with this law.

We can do 20% front windows in ON.?

Always have had 20% on my front "windows" which I consider my front door windows not the front "windshield." Done all my vehicles this way. Never had a problem with cops stopping me. Maybe has something to do with my personalized Fire Dept plates;). Dark tint keeps my emergency equipment hidden in back seat.

It's the first time I've ever done an eyebrow and I love it. Thinking about doing the whole windshield in the new Llunar ceramic. It's barely tinted at all so it's legal to use over the while thing. Supposed to still block a lot of heat though.

I had LLumar Air 80 on previous truck windshield and already scheduled appointment for new RAM. I have to wait almost a month since tint shop has just one technician who can do windshield and sunroof job. Windshield tint makes great difference.

Everybody I've talked to has said it's worth it. I live in central Texas so if it helps at all it will be worth it. This time of year it is 100+ outside every day. I had thought about doing the sunroof as well but the shop that does the Llumar said they wont touch it.

I live in north Texas and just had my moonroof tinted - I would find another shop willing to do the job.

Went with CTX ceramic on the side windows, and Huper Optik ceramic (30%) on the moonroof.

I plan on finding somebody. I want the ceramic such as the Llumar or Huper Optik on the windshield and moonroof to block the heat. Dont want to darken it up a whole lot though.
