Tailgate won’t unlock but will release

All,

Tailgate will release with FOB release button but will not unlock with door nor fob thus unable to open with physical button on the tailgate.

I recently disconnected the battery to replace the radio air card and did not have this problem prior to that so I believe it to be electrical. Thoughts? Is there a dedicated fuse for this? I’m lost since it will open with the tailgate open button but won’t unlock. Nothing heard when attempting to unlock.

The tailgate doesn’t actually have a lock, the latches are controlled electronically. I would suspect an issue with the tailgate release button, or maybe just one of those weird issue that pop up after disconnecting the battery that will fix itself overtime.

It could also be an issue with the key fob signal not being detected at the tailgate, with the truck unlocked this shouldn’t be an issue tho as the fob doesn’t need to be nearby to open the tailgate.
