The way the tailgate is designed, it hard not to rub on the paint to close the tailgate.I found this cap or lip, now I am not worried when someone closes the tailgate. Was thinking it was to aggressive but after installation , I actually like a lot.

Thank you for posting this. I've had this spoiler in the shopping cart for a good month or so, think I might finally pull the trigger now. I had one on my F150, and on the cab itself. Thought it added some looks.

Good looking truck.. I have the black Rebel and keep thinking the same thing on lifting tailgate with dirty hands and getting scratches in that area. Have even thought about getting the 3M installed in that area at the top to prevent it. Thanks for posting. Looks good. I have the MX4 and I don't think it sticks up anymore than the factory tailgate cover.
They actually have a picture with a MX 4 type bedcover on a truck. You can see where the bed cover stops and this begins.

Thank you for the compliment, Now with the lip, i won't need the 3M but I am thinking about putting the 3M about 4 inches down the sides, lately with the covid stuff, we have been enjoying hanging out in the bed eating our dinner pickups and my 1 year old keeps reaching over the side caps and scratching the paint with his little nails, they buff out but it sucks.

I really liked it, you will like the way it feels when you lift the tailgate.

I like that you can use it to close the tailgate without touching the paint. I'm not a fan of how it looks though. But thanks for the idea for the 3M stuff.

Crap.. Now I want it, i like that alot. I thought i had everything I wanted for my truck. How was the install?

When you close the tailgate, does it feel like it will pop off or anything?

It is two strips of adhesive, as long as you measure it perfectly on the tailgate, it takes about 5 minutes. It is like an 1/8 of an inch on each side shorter than the tailgate, so you have to make sure it is the same side to side.

I was really surprise how glued on it feels. Feels so good not to touch paint when you lift the tailgate. Now I have no worries when anybody closes my tailgate. I actually like the look alot but some people will not.

Do you know how easy it is to remove the factory tailgate spoiler by chance. Mine got beat up. I would like to replace it.

I like the idea of these. I wish they had a version for the MFT though.
