Bought a 2019 longhorn today. Very happy with the purchase, but... Has the panoramic sunroof and I took it off the lot and I was driving it home with the wifey and I asked her to close the sunshade because it was dark out and we didn't need it open. She hit the overhead buttons, left, right and all around... and nothing.

I told her, like normal guy, don't touch any more buttons up there and I'll figure it out when I get home. I read the manual intensively when I got back and I have absolutely no activation of any of the sunroof or sunshade buttons. The sunshade is stuck in the middle position and I have looked at the sun roof, inside and out, and it is completely closed. What gives? Am I missing something? Am I completely dumb?

Painful solution is to bring it back into the dealer on Monday and miss work but I am wondering if there is some trouble shooting I may be missing I can do on my end. I really don't want to miss work and also don't want to blow my fuse on the dealership unless I have to!

There are a few threads that might be helpful:
https://5thgenrams.com/community/threads/center-console-panel.1281/#post-17630
https://5thgenrams.com/community/threads/power-to-front-roof-controls-is-gone.1325/
https://5thgenrams.com/community/threads/map-lights-in-overhead-console-stopped-working.1667/

and a few more that I can't recall at the moment, but in general I think the advice was to check the fuses (remove and reseat), if that fails, you can pull the panel itself and pull and reseat the connector under it. Somewhere I had read that an OTA update occurs and then the controls up there get confused and don't want to work until they get reset. Best of luck, and let us know how it turns out. Enjoy the truck!
Oh, PS: Check the drains for the sunroof (https://5thgenrams.com/community/threads/faq-sunroof-drains.4338/)

I tried troubleshooting myself and disconnected and reconnected all 4 connectors. No dice. I put my hand in the fuse box and pushed in all the fuses to see if any were loose. That didn't work either. Off to the dealership I go tomorrow. Also, my sunroof run off hoses may also be installed faulty but I posted a request for input in another thread on that issue.

Thank, you. After the service guys could not activate the controls they ordered a new overhead console control unit. I will have it installed today and hopefully this takes care of it.

No dice at the dealership. The replacement overhead console unit did not do the job. So I have a 3rd appnt next week where they will have to get into the compartment with the sunroof motor and check that as well as the connector there. It will be enough labor they said that they plan on giving me a loaner until they find the fix.

At first the shop told me they looked at the fuse and it was fine, and then when they installed the new motor it still wasn't working. You may want to try to remove the fuse yourself and get it back seated firm and see if that is your problem before you bring it in. There have been a lot of reports of the fuses being loose upon delivery or shortly thereafter!

I am sitting at the dealership now having this issue. I attempted to fix myself by pulling the console down and resetting the connections in the headliner, and also reseating the fuse. Neither worked. I can hear the motor for the sunshade move when I hit the close button but it is already fully closed, but will not open. i at on hour 4 at the dealership as they tested the switches and they check out, they tested power to the motors and that checked out. Now they are pulling the headliner to check motors. Guess I will just have to wait and see what happens. Not very happy as it stopped working on day 3 of having the truck. bought it used - 2019 Ram Limited with 20,000 miles on it.

Thank you, the dealership actually just called me. They put in a request to Ram engineering to have their opinion as they cannot find what is wrong. I am happy to provide you further details through private message if you would like.

There are reset hacks for sunroofs, which I performed on my Jeep GC. Wonder if there is a way to also recalibrate the shade, especially since you hear the motor running. It appears that it’s only sensing the closure, but not engaging to open.

First, nice icon, bless this community. I tried the reset with unplugging the switches but that didn't work. It's with the dealership now to be figured out.
