What's with the recent rash of spam posts? I've reported multiple posts over the last few days.

It’s just vertical scope being vertical scope and not keeping their spam filters up to date. And moderators not keeping up with the ones that fall though.

They happen pretty regularly, but are usually caught (and taken down) before many people notice them.

I've also had a lot more host error issues lately. Think it's time to find a new host or something

It’s mainly spammers from china and surrounding areas. I resigned as a moderator a few months ago on a different truck forum that VS bought since 99% of the time it was clearing all the crap VS let’s through.

Was great before they took over.

Yes, I'm sure that's the issue. They don't want us talking about cars and trucks.
Lol. I'm actually thinking there's some validity to it. I've noticed several server problems lately, and can only chalk it up to additional attacks on the cyber front. Even the FCA server problems lately - I wonder if there are repeated attacks, just trying to disrupt the American economy.

It's been a while since I've been a moderator on a forum, not Facebook group, but isn't there a way you can add extra steps for registering to join that can help screen out spammers? Right now it's just the stupid click a box "I'm not a robot" thing which they have obviously figured out how to defeat

Uptick in spam, we're seeing it on HDRams.com as well.

I don't have visibility into everything, and won't disclose publicly what I do know, but there are methods in place to limit the amount of spam and the spammer registrations. You'd be amazed at what doesn't get through.

As brutal said. So much spam does get caught. And so much gets snagged by the approval request. As soon as I fet on in the AM. I am east coast so that is now...i clear all spam reports and still get to some before they are reported.

Best we can do. I do this moderator thing to help people understand RAM trucks. It is in my free time. Which this is our busy time of year at work and camping has started. So. Report it when you see it. Or ignore it all together. It is pretty easy to tell it is spam. Just hit report or glide on by.

Maybe @Jared B or @redriderbob can take a look...but we as moderators really can do nothing but delete it when it is here

But if no spam makes it through, how will I know where to get my cialis and hair growth pills?

Report, ignore. You won't see the rest from that member.

If you see a thread with many views, there's a good chance it has already been reported.
