Spacers with factory 22s

Has anyone used 1/2” spacers with factory 22x9 wheels and 285s. I was going with 22x10s and 305s but with the +25 offset of the 10s I believe they’ll rub. I believe the 22x9 with the +19 offset could stand to come outward a little.

I haven't but I have 1.5" spacers arriving tomorrow that I plan on using with my factory 22's. You think it's going to be an issue?

I think they’ll stick out but if that’s what you’re looking for then you’re good.

I’m still torn. The 22x9s have 5.75” offset. The 22x10s have 6.48” offset. Will they rub? If they do, will 1/2” spacer be enough to alleviate the rubbing.

Here's a little update. I've been speaking with replica wheels about sizing. I'm interested in the 22x10s. They have a +25 offset. The factory 22x9s have a +19 offset. That will be roughly 3/4" more wheel going towards the A arms. They are uncertain if it will rub or not. As of today they are going rent a 2019 ram 1500 to put these wheels on to see if they will rub. My plan is to go with 305/45 all season tires. This will eat up a little more fender well and will be wider which I think will look way better. If they slightly rub I will add 1/2" spacers which I may do regardless as I think the wheels can stand to come outward some.

I tried the 1.5" spacers on factory 22's. I tried one rim and didn't like how it looked and didn't feel comfortable with the spacer really.

I have 22x9.5 +25 wheels but 285s and they fit without issue if that helps

Do you have any pics? You can text to 225-206-1520 if it's easier. I'm curious how the 285s look on the wider rim. I really like the way they look on the factory 9" wheels and figure they wouldn't look right on a 10" wheel.

Here’s a couple, the tires are almost flush with the edge of the rim so not a ton of sidewall protection if that's an issue

I have been thinking about doing this and was curious as to why you didn't like it? Did the wheel not fit correctly on the spacer? Did it stick out too far? I wanted a little bit wider stance but wanted to keep my factory rims. I was hoping I could get away with a 1.5" or 1.25" spacer without cutting the factory studs.

You can definitely get away with 1.5" spacer and no trimming, probably 1.25" also. I am running a wider tire anyway so it just looked a little too wide. What concerned me is when I installed the spacer, I didn't torque them all the way until I could get a look. When I tried to take the rim/tire off it was stuck. I had to basically kick it from behind repeatedly until it freed BUT that could be because it pressed on the hub part of the spacer so maybe it was meant to do that. I just felt uncomfortable with the setup

Thank you for the reply. I appreciate the information. I was thinking about the 305/45-22 in either a Terra or Ridge but am still on the fence. I know that would be a little wider but also wanted to push the tires out to the fender edge and was thinking a spacer too. What brand spacers did you go with?

I had the Terra, and preferred the look of the Ridge if that helps. I bought the ones from Amazon:

I do prefer the looks of the Ridge but the price of the Terras. LOL. I will probably end up with the Ridge. Thank you for the link on the spacers!

The GM center bore is 78.1 mm, the ram hub and wheels are 77.8 mm center bore. It's only a .3 mm difference but when you factor in machining tolerances sometimes they're going to be a little bigger or a little smaller. The spacer was probably on the large side of 78.1 mm and your rim on the small side of 77.8 mm That's why your rim got stuck on the spacer and you had to kick it off.

Just ordered wheels and tires. They'll come mounted/balanced with new lugs and new TPMS. Went with the 22x10 sport replica wheels and 305/45/22 Falken all-season tires. These wheels are like the factory ones accept instead of charcoal grey they are black with brushed outer edges. Also ordered the 2" drop coils for the rear. Will post pics when completed.
