Hi all. Just bought a new 2025 RAM Sport. It has the 22” rims on it, but I want to put 20” winter tires on it for snow. Yes little early to think of it, but want to be ready for when I decide to buy them. Lol
Question is on some sites it gives two options for the rims. Hubcentric or not. The Hubcentric is about $20 more a rim.
What rims should I get? Is the 2025 RAMs Hubcentric? If they are is it worth the $20 more a rim that is Hubcentric?
My old truck was a 2012 RAM Sport and when I bought the winter rims I don’t even remember having this option.
also, is it better to get the non hubcentric rims? I am thinking of/if say 4 years down the road I get a new RAM and they changed the hub size.

Thank you
Steve

It’s a Stupid Tax. Some people who don’t know cars and have never seen a tapered lug nut will gladly pay $80 to not think about it. I even read from a wheel co’ that the clamp force is fine for maximum payload, etc.

Someone be along shortly to disagree.

Stock wheels would be hub centric since the hub matches right up.
If your wheels center bore is larger than your hub, you can always get adapters.
Smaller wheel bore cannot fit on a larger hub.

If you’re going aftermarket, you will want to get the correct lugs for that wheel. Most aftermarket that I’ve dealt with are the acorn style, which can then be lug centric but you must make sure the lugs are properly tightened.
IMO its easier to spend the 20 bucks on adapters so the wheel and the hub match up perfectly.
