I have a 2021 ram with 5.7 hemi etorque. It has 12900 miles on it and I just noticed a few drops of oil under it. I have a couple pics showing drips underneath. Anyone know where it may be originating or what the fix may be?

As mentioned, if you had the oil change done and they didn't bother to try and prevent spillage from the filter removal, you will have a lot of oil mess down there. Once you start driving, that excess oil will move backwards. Clean the area really well and see if it continues.

Then I would recommend an appointment to the dealership, they should be able to confirm what this issue is, especially if they were responsible for the last oil change. If that's not it, they can confirm the leak and fix it under warranty.

This may be a common problem as someone in ram forum said the same thing

Whether it's a common problem or not things fail from time to time. This is precisely why warranties come with new vehicles. Besides, I'd rather have an oil temp sensor fail then the rear main seal. The sensor is a lot less of a pain in the @$$ to replace. I'm glad it was just the sensor

Bad news the leak came back. Now they are saying it might be the oil pan gasket. That's a big job. Anybody hear of this on a new ram with 13000 miles?

Thankfully you're still under warranty. Unfortunately the drips are in the right spot for a bad rear main seal

Yes I am but the thought of breaking the factory seal on the engine seems insane to me on a 1 year old truck. I may get rid of it now

I had a brand new Charger back in 06, rear main seal needed to be replaced at around 1k miles. Stuff happens, warranty repair. Glad I didn't have to do it. :)
