With the exception of the stereo, my truck is fairly simple. I blacked out all of the things (emblems, limited chrome badging, exhaust tips, tow hooks, etc), replaced the wheels and tires and called it a day.

For the stereo I'm currently running:

  • Focal ES 165 K2 Front Stage (Woofer + Tweeter)
  • DD EX2.75 Midrange
  • DD M1d Sub Amplifier
  • 2x DD SS4b Speaker Amplifers
  • Mosconi 6to8v8 Processor
  • Maestro DSR1 (Factory amplifier replacement)
  • 4 x DD 506 6.5" Subwoofers
  • XSPower XP750 Supplemental AGM Battery

Looks killer! And that’s gotta be the most expensive/highest quality audio set-up I’ve seen in a Ram...

Go big or go home! Didn’t want to do a disservice to this truck.

I’m having the box wrapped in leather and stitched to match the upholstery, but after that it’s pretty much complete I think.

... and called it a day... understatement of the year (y):)
I’d love to hear that stereo. Did you build the box yourself?

I did not. There’s a lot of crazy angles to make this box fit and give it the air space I needed.

Looks nice! I'm considering blacking out the chrome on my granite so this was nice to see done. Have you considered if you will do anything with the door handles, including tailgate, window trim or tackle the grill?

Incredible! How did you go about stopping the rattling in the back/rear window??

How did you black out the emblems (the ones that don't come in black)?

Honestly I'm planning on keeping the rest of the chrome. I don't mind a bit of chrome so long as it's tasteful and I do want to keep some of the limited elements.

Honestly I don't have a ton of rattling; but to be frank you can not hear anything other than music in this vehicle once it gets going even if there is a rattle. I had actually planned to deaden the entire truck with some Focal BAMF or something similar but it's pretty solid on it's own.

How did you black out the emblems (the ones that don't come in black)?

The only ones I blacked out myself was the Limited stuff (Limited text was plastidip'd in the rear and the limited chrome strips were vinyl wrapped). The other badging I ordered directly from Dodge and just replaced.

SWEET!
Could you expand on your stereo mods, or did you build a thread for it? Did you start with Alpine or HK?
Were the Focal/DDs an easy speaker swap, did they go right in the stock locations?
Was the Maestro DSR1 a plug and play swap for the factory part? How much more power, how many channels, and how much cleaner?
Who made that sweet sub box?!

Im interested in those specifics too. I'm about to order my truck, and my biggest hangup is the quality of the HK audio system. I want better sound but I also want to stay with the other features that the larger screen offers. I'm told you can't have an Alpine system with the larger screen.

I could be wrong but doesn't the LImited come default with the 12" screen and alpine system? The HK stereo is an upgrade with the Level 1 group.
