Mopar bed step.

Sorry, I don't know. I don't recall now whether I ordered the AB or AD version and I don't seem to have the confirmation email anymore. The instruction sheet is in my file but doesn't have the model number on it. I just took a look under my truck but I don't see the full part number stamped on the step.
AB version is cast iron mount. That is the one under recall. The later versions are stamped steel. There are pictures here on this forum

What I got out of the recall is that the cast iron steps are too strong, and in the event of a rear end crash cause the rear axle links to hit the fuel tank. The newer design isn’t as strong and would simply break during a rear end crash.

I didn't buy mine from the dealer. Would I still get the recall letter?

Looking for the part # for the Mopar bed step.

MOPAR 82215289AG - Rear Bumper Step(fits 2019-2020 DT 1500 With Dual Exhausts)

Bought mine here,,, was the cheapest i could find around the US.;

So my replacement step hits my exhaust much harder than my original AB version step did.

Sorry guys, drove it all day and used the bed step late in the afternoon, and heard it hit the exhaust when I stowed it. Got under the truck, and the clearance was back to the original 0.2" (when it snaps back to the stow position, there is over-travel and it dings the exhaust hard). I think I must have pushed on the exhaust and moved it when I was messing with the bed step this morning, and it made me think I got more clearance when that was not the case. Not happy, but getting under there and looking at the problem gave me an idea for a simple/clean fix ... I'll share once I get a chance to test it out.
Did you ever test out a fix?

Does the step work with the 5" Mopar tips, didn't see this mentioned in the thread?

I currently have the step, Mopar catback exhaust and the Mopar 5” tips and they definitely work work well on mine. :)

I have the OEM (82215289AG) version, and it slams the resonator pretty good, about gave me a turtlehead..2019 Ram Rebel. Mine is almost if not, touching the seam of the resonator..

Bringing this up from the depths....

Have a pulse on a well-priced new take off bed step, but the part number is 82215289AD which I know has now been superseded; new part #AH.

Does anyone know or is there anyway to confirm if there were any design changes between the two? Don't want to pull the trigger only to find out it won't work on 2021.

if the price is nice, get it and see how it fits and functions. If you are not pleased, you can always sell it here on the forum. its a pretty quick moving item, depending on the asking price of course.

Shipping will kill you though. We ship 10-15 lb boxes occasionally from SoCal to Kansas and get beat up heavily regardless of whom we use (UPS, USPS, Fedex). Shipping a bed step seems like it might cost a crazy amount these days.

Brand new 2022 Rebel with GT package and definitely hits when I let it snap back. I'm going to monkey with mine and see if I can get it to have more clearance
