hey, i just got mine installed, very easy although i don’t really like the T connector, i solder the wire together. One correction to your instruction below, it should be black to black and white to Red wire paring. :)

On my wife’s truck 19 Ram Big Horn, 7 pin had white as ground and black was the center Reverse wire; by the diagram on the 7 pin cap pictured.

Id run a power probe to yours to be sure, unless your wire colors are different. Which could be a possibility. I had a friend with a 19 Ram and he suggested White/GR and Yellow/REV.
On my truck, that was the brake lights.

um... on my Laramie, it’s also black/REV and white/GR . there is one other possibility is that the led light that i bought had it reversed.

My wife does not have a factory trailer brake, does yours?

I haven’t checked my 2019’Ram Laramie. Which i sold recently or I could compare.

Side bar: I got back into a Chevy SS Sedan. (Had previous G8 GT and SS) Two new truck payments sucked and a new baby on the way.

Any idea how much a drop hitch receiver would block the light this way? All summer I have a bar with a 4 inch drop installed.

It would most likely block mounted to THAT location. Alternative would mount somewhere else or buy two and mount them to the underside bumper (on either side of the receiver) and have double the light, unobstructed.

I installed this and it definitely meets my needs. I did use curt connectors to make removal easier if I want to. I was looking at a different set up but did not want to risk the tail gate damage some have reported. This works, install was easy

Installed two of these, one on each side of the hitch bottom. Fantastic results. I might use a few of these for bed lights.

I don't know how much adjustment you can do with those lights for the bed. Below is a post on the Kafeek which you can adjust and tuck out of the way of cargo.
They can be purchased on Amazon for $14.99 (sold individually)

My intentions are to wire up Kafeeks in the bed with the auxiliary reverse lights with a double pole double throw switch (DPDT) so the area behind the truck is lighted along with the bed. The DPDT will switch the power from the reverse wire to the auxiliary wire on the 5 pin flat curt. Parts and wiring diagram have been worked out, just need a "spark" to get myself motivated. Part of my "tomorrow to someday to bucket list" list.
UPDATE - one off the list.
