Was hoping some of you guys could show some pics of your setup for hauling kayaks. Trying to figure out best way to carry kayaks with the ram box 5’7 bed.
Thanks!
Use a bed extender.... allows you to support the kayak at the rear. Also takes stress if the tailgate.
Need to close the clips on the bed to turn off the message that the tailgate is open.
Remember to open the clips before you close that tailgate.
I didn't have an issue hauling my 12' kayak in my 2500 with 8' bed. But with the very short bed, I'm not sure if I should go with a roof rack, or headache rack and hitch rack or tower racks. My wife wants to join me this year so I'm going to get her a kayak, too. So, suggestions would be good...
Bed extender. Cut a pool noodle, zip tie and/or duct tape it up to pad the bar to pad and prevent dents (this was before I taped it up, tended to rotate). Get some cheap reflectors to add visibility. Works great. You can also just hit "ok" to clear the tailgate message
