Mine did the same thing at low speed. Dealer replaced the rack@pinion and fixed the issue

When you turn to the right the noise coming from steering area? Are you hear strange rattle in bumps behind the steering?

No rattles over bumps. Sound came from the steering column and only happened when turning right in certain situations and at low speed

Mine started at about 10k miles. Same issue as you. Feel a vibration in the steering column similar to the tires grinding on a plastic wheel well cover. At 20k service, the dealer said they couldn't replicate the problem. Same as the 30k. Whatever it is has slowly lessened now that I'm at 30k. There's a similar post where someone showed pics of the steering knuckle and control arm rubbing. Not sure if this is normal but mine is the same. Taking the truck to the dealer for this again. Good luck.

Exact same thing as mine... making a 45 degree right hand turn at ~15 MPH will generate this feeling from steering column (sounds as if it is from the left front wheel).

Will be taking it into dealership soon.

I have the same exact issue with my 2019 Limited 1500 40k miles

@RamCares is this something covered under warranty? Hope I didn't miss the boat at 40k miles...

I’ve been into the dealer twice for this same issue. I feel a grinding noise in the steering wheel when making a right turn at low speed between 8-10 mph. The dealer has not been able to reproduce the issue both times the truck has been taken in. My truck was built February 2019 and the TSB 19-002-18 lists trucks built between August 3, 2018 and August 28, 2018.

What more can I do so the dealer will fix the issue. Is there an updated TSB for this issue?

My 2020 Limited does the same thing. I plan to have it addressed soon. Not surprised to have steering concerns since my 2019 had steering problems as well but not the same. This makes two 5th gens with multiple issues for me. Pretty frustrating.

Same issue on my 2019 Limited. Dealer couldn't replicate it two earlier times, this time I'm going to ride with someone till they hear it.

So I had this exact same problem on my bighorn for the last year. Took it to the dealership and they couldn't figure it out...grinding only when turning right at about 10 mph. I was about to just live with it but then I got new tires a month ago and the issue has disappeared..so apparently it was a wheel or tire..funny thing was I got the old tires rotated and it still made the sound. What gives

Was gonna just leave it and deal with the issue but realized I spent a lot of money on this, my first truck,. Took it to the dealer and asked if a tech could ride with me. Right when I was going to give up the noise happened. The tech drove it and we were able to cause the issue numerous times. He even found that it happens on a slow left turn like a u turn. They replaced the rack & pinion. Just took the truck back and I'll report if the issue returns. For everyone having this issue, I'd recommend having a tech drive with you. Good luck.
