I recently returned from a 2500 mile vacation in my 2020 Bighorn 4x4 Eco Diesel with 3.21 gears. Don't remember the exact RPMs but it is closer to your buddy's 1400 with his Cummins. Was pleased with the just under 28 mpg overall fuel mileage for the trip. Got around 26 mpg on a similar 1500 mile trip last fall when the engine had fewer miles on it. It's now approaching 11K. I ordered the truck with 3.21 gears because no towing was anticipated. The engine's torque along with an 8-speed auto seemed likely to provide decent acceleration and better mileage with higher (lower numerically) gearing. I remain satisfied with that decision. My 2021 Rebel with the 3.0 eco diesel runs about 1800 RPM at 67mph. Buddies 3/4 ton Cummins runs at about 1400 RPM at 67mph. I have the 3.92 gears, wondering what the other gears are running for rpm? Thanks
im about the same with youMy 2021 Rebel with the 3.0 eco diesel runs about 1800 RPM at 67mph. Buddies 3/4 ton Cummins runs at about 1400 RPM at 67mph. I have the 3.92 gears, wondering what the other gears are running for rpm? Thanks

If you had regular tires it probably wouldn’t downshift as much. I have the regular factory 20s with the Bridgestones on my Ram and it only downshifts on the steepest hills. Are your tires in the the factory size or a different size?I'ts hard to find a flat area around me but I feel like mine is at 1900-1950 (just using the gauge) at 70mph. I've got the 3.92 and the ORG, so A/T tires
Only thing that surprises me is that it downshifts more than I expected on hills. I figured with the 3.92's 8th gear essentially being the 3.21's 7th, I'd be holding it in 8th more. My baseline for comparison, though, is a lighter 2015 Grand Cherokee EcoDiesel.
It's the Falkens that come with the ORG. Factory. It's only got 1500 miles. Maybe when it's a little more broken in it will hold hills better. If you had regular tires it probably wouldn’t downshift as much.
