They said one guy verified that his GVWR on his gas F-350 did drop according to Ford's towing calculator on their website.

Something probably changed with how the GVWR gets calculated for federal safety standards

I've always been of the opinion, if I need a calculator to figure out exactly how close I am to the limit of my truck then I need a bigger truck. Stuff like this just confirms that in my mind, it's one of the reasons I won't tow > 8000 pounds with a half ton.
