Dash and 8.4 Nav go Dark

Had truck two days, dash and 8.4 go dark while driving. If I turn the lights or windshield wiper the screen(s) come back up. Very strange gremlin. Is this a known problem?

The screen on mine darkens automatically when the headlights are on. There is a roll type adjustment switch on the left of the steering wheel. Next time it happens try rolling it all the way up. There are two rollers, one controls an ambient light that is on the ceiling that points down at the box under the radio and the other is the display brightness.
