Truck starts very rough. I have the 5.7 with the etorque. Also mileage is not that great <13mog avg and wondering if the two could be related. Has anyone else had similar issues?

Thanks

There is another thread about the rough cold starts. Mine had the same issue and was advised to get the oil changed as there was something with the oil filters from the factory. Just changed mine and it hit 15 degrees last night. Started and ran smooth.

There is another thread I started a while back. I haven't had the chance to take mine in yet, but the last week it hasn't done it at all. I have just under 4000 miles and will be taking it in for my first oil change in the next week or so.

What do you mean by rough?
For mine, it was firing right up but then the rpms would drop and it would sound like it was about to die. Then it goes back to normal. The whole thing took about 10-15 seconds. Only on a cold start and never drove bad afterwards.

Hi LDTJSA23,
I understand how this would be concerning. Let us know if you decide to have your dealer look into this so we can address any questions or concerns you may have while your truck is being serviced.

This is exactly what happens with my truck on the first start of the day. It starts immediately, the revs rise to about 1800rpm, then they drop to a point where it sounds and feels as if the engine is going to die. It then revs back up and repeats this cycle for about 15 seconds. One it settles down, it runs perfectly. I have a couple of other issues with my truck and I'll be taking it back to the dealership as soon as I can find the time to do so.

No problem. It did it this morning for the first time in about 10 days. Oddly enough, I put gas in it last night. I wonder if it doesn't like what was put in it. I put in 89 as recommended each fill up, but the station I used could be lower quality maybe.
