Black chrome inserts for Chrome grille?

Does anyone know if it's possible to replace the grille inserts (2 horizontal bars on top and 3 horizontal bars on bottom) with black ones instead of chrome ones? Or does the grille come as one entire piece? I don't mind the chrome so much, but think black inserts would look a lot better. I know Ford and Chevy do this on some of their trims. Thanks for any input!

Yes, it’s replaceable parts, but you must take off all grille to replace it. Don’t know the part number, try find it tomorrow, i have the black one from broken grille.

The easiest way to do that is to buy overlays and paint them black:

I've done.paint and plastidips

I've done paint and plastidip a couple times on grilles and it never seems to withstand the abuse from the highway road rash like OEM. If I can swap it out by taking it off, I'd give it a shot.

Hey Georgf, is that what you did for your truck in your profile pic? That looks pretty slick 👌

He has a tradesman/Bighorn, that's the way they come... mine actually was the same as his and I installed the chrome overlays.
You can wrap them, it'll hold up pretty good imo...
Even if it doesn't hold up, it takes minutes to install/remove, rather than removing the grille, which takes hours.

My grille was broken, and i bought used one on eBay and replaced it. They both has black inserts. But inserts has no part numbers, just checked it. So you need buy grille assembly, if you want black inserts.

Has anyone seen a truck with chrome bumpers and the sport grille? I wonder if anyone has pulled this off. Looks to be cheaper just to buy the sport grille, comes with the inserts, and swap it out.
