Bilstein 5100

well, that's just annoying....:cautious:

I called 4 places this week and NONE of them could order the struts as they were pending. Only one place offered to install them if I bought them. $300 for install. So he will be getting my business. The others were so bad I left reviews on the google. One even was bold enough to quote me $3400 for tires and wheels, which can be had for $2000 EVERYWHERE else. Key is to call around find a local installer that will still install them even if they don’t have them available.

I did the same and my local guy is willing to install UCA's and a level kit for $300 as well and then told me to find the best deal I could online and he would match it for rims and Nitto RG's. If all prices are even, I much much rather give all my business to a local brick and mortar guy then just ordering off the web. Trust me I appreciate the gallery section of a major site like Custom Offset, there is also tons of missing leading and inaccurate info on there as well. And unless you go to their brick and mortar shop, I am not sure how much they are standing behind their free fitment advice.

Installed mine this evening using the #5 (1.7") setting, looks much better, it appears to be perfectly level although the rake was 2.5",
*made my son do it, only took about 3 hours, and you do not have to remove the caliper/rotor.
Will post pics tomorrow.

Had them installed yesterday on #6. Overall about 2.25” over OEM setup. Stayed with the original UCAs. Time will tell how they hold up. Rides muck better than stock. A lot firmer and more responsive (Not too stiff though).

No rubbing with 285/75/18 Ridge Grapplers

Had mine installed on Friday and drove it all weekend. Ecstatic to report that it rides wonderful. Much better dampening, steering and responsiveness on these western PA roads. Even though I thought my leveling kit rode ok over stock, now it makes it seem that it rode awfully with the kit on. So happy that I had these installed. Ordering Bilsteins for the rear now.

I used setting #5 (1.7") also and it seem like it netted more than my 2" leveling kit. Front fender sits at 38 1/2" and rear at 39 1/4" with 295/60/20s on it. 3/4" of rake which i'm happy with.

I was born/raised in Harrisburg!

PA definitely has some of the worse roads I have driven on when comparing state to state. Love the snow pic!!!

Florida roads are like butter/silky smooth compared to PA. ( I know...snow salt plus old old roads up there!!!)

Anyone know how much of a lift the Bilsteins in their lowest position will give over stock? I really don't want truck raised.

I believe the lowest setting is the same as stock height. There's a chart that someone posted in this thread a while back that shows the settings and heights. It came with mine but don't have it in front of me to reference.

Official word back from Bilsteins regarding 5100's on Rebels...

"Unfortunately Bilstein 5100 Ride Height Adjustable shock #24-232203 cannot be used on the ’19 Rebel. This shock is not designed for the additional travel and spring rate of the Rebel’s Off Road suspension. This shock can only be used on the standard suspension trucks.

The only product we have available at this time for the Rebel with the Off Road spring suspension is the 5100 rear shock. "

Are the Rebel Springs different from the ORP Springs? Something doesn't add up here. They allow them for ORP but not Rebel?

Yeah not sure about springs but we know the struts are bilsteins so they are probably aware of the strut / spring combo. Perhaps the ORP coil spring part#'s are on the site, below are pics of the part# tags on my rebel.

Anyone thinking about doing #7 front, new UCA and then the rear adjustable to get the one inch lift in the rear? How close is that to what the mopar lift is achieving?

Jack it has front and rear shock Bilstein package and I believe the rear has 0-1 “ on it

Rears aren't adjustable so you need a spacer. But to answer your question. That's exactly what I intend to do. Max out the front. 1" rear. New Mopar ucas from their lift.
