Has anyone installed a aftermarket subwoofer and amplifier in the 2019 Ram 1500 with the Harman Kardon audio system? I am planning to install two 12’s, amp, and a line output converter. Just curious if anyone has done this yet so I will know what problems to look out for. I already have looked into disabling the ANC.

I talked to an installer buddy of mine a couple of weeks ago about an install they were doing in a 2020 Laramie and they were having hell getting it to sound right. By the way, what does ANC stand for? I have the Alpine system in mine and like it, but it could use more thump. Happy Friday!!

I'm curious where you plan to put the two 12's. Most of us (I think) have gone with one or two 10's (I did the latter). I put mine under the rear seat. Pics probably in the second link listed above. 12's would have been nice but I wasn't willing to trade space in the rear seat area.

Fox acoustics make a ported box for 2 12’s that fits under the seats. Will have to add seat spacers for the rear seats. I plan to mount my amp behind the driver side rear seat along with my LC2i line output converter.

Very cool. Looks like that model comes with the seat spacers. Seems like it will stick out from under the rear seat a few inches. The 10 inch boxes barely fit, so I can just imagine what a 12 inch box would be like. I went with 10's because I didn't want to give up any "foot space" for passengers in the back. Be sure to post lots of pictures of your install. We will all be excited to see how it comes out! Here are some pics of my install. As you can see, the box sticks out from the rear seat slightly.

Scroll through and you can see the installation and then further down, some pics with the seat down.

Sorry it’s been so long since I posted anything about this. I installed the fox box with 2 SA-12’s. Here are a few pics.

Glad I came across this. First of all, nice build! I just picked up a 2021 Limited with HK system and am heading down this same path. I was looking at the same box too. Any issues with it at all or any "gotchas" after install?

Also, I see you went with the PAC AP4-CH41 instead of just the APSUB-CH41. Any specific reason for that? I am just looking to add two 12" subs to this system. Did you leave the HK sub in too or did you remove it or its just bypassed now? Sorry for all the questions, thanks in advance for any insight you can provide here!

Thank you. I went with the AP4-CH41 incase later on I wanted to add additional amplifiers for my doors and dash speakers. If I’m not mistaken I think the APSUB-CH41 comes with outputs for subwoofers only. Overall I was satisfied with the fox acoustics box. The seat spacers do take up a noticeable amount of head space if you have people sitting on the back seat that are tall. The box doesn’t work well with the factory floor mat. You won’t be able to access the storage bins under the floor board without contorting the mat. I cut a slit across my floor mat so it will fold up with the storage bin lids and it works fine. You can’t tell they are cut, they don’t lose any functionality if you cut them and it retains the factory look. I did leave the factory HK sub inside the truck but it isn’t hooked up. I simply unplugged it.

Would a shallow mount sub fit behind the seat if you cut the in carpet panel?

The amppro ap4 ch41
Haven't done car audio install since the old days where it was super easy to swap head units and run all your own wiring. With the 12" screen and HK sound system, does the amppro ap4 ch41 just connect to the head unit harness and then you can run RCA to an amp? Just looking to remove factory sub and throw a pre fab box under the seat. Any need to bypass the ANC system as well or any other gotchas?
