Maybe but i'm holding out to see the numbers. As long as it can hold my atv and haul my 25' deck boat I would be ecstatic!

 still calling it a Dodge Rebel

Yeah, I noticed that too, and I cringed. But the good news is, if this is a legitimate "spy video" and it turns out to be true, it can only be good news for Rebel sales, so Ram can compete across the board with Ford's new PS V6 diesel, and GM's upcoming new I6 diesel.

Sure hope they ironed out the kinks with the ecodiesel. I gave mine up with all the scr def and oil in the water issues not to mention the half a dozen recalls the thing still had.

I love the idea of a diesel powerplant, but it seems like the DEF and regeneration issues on modern diesels impacts reliability. Brother-in-law has an F350 that's been at the dealer 4 times in the past several months due to regen problems.

People don't seem to realize the EGR issues aren't unique to the Ecodiesel, all modern diesel face the same problems with EGR as you pointed out. That said, if we are lucky we'll see Cummins next gen approach which eliminates EGR: https://www.equipmentworld.com/good...chnology-and-a-mod-free-one-world-capability/ We'd be even more lucky if something similar was adapted to the Ecodiesel.

That article regarding Cummins was from 2016. Makes one wonder how long we'll have to wait for something better.

I do not understand the clammoring for the Eco diesel. Mercedes has pretty much given up on it in cars. Diesel fuel where I live is $1.00 more per gallon than the regular unleaded negating the cost per mile advantage. This is in the western NY area. Plus the upcharge for the diesel package itself. Maybe different where you live.

The fuel economy isn’t linear lower compared to gas when you are towing... so if you tow a lot gas mileage will probably compensate for that $1 sooner compared to not towing...

There is a few people clamoring for a battery powered truck. I don’t understand that. I suppose it would best fit their nitch use goals & preferences like the ED does mine.

But you don’t have to try to explain it to me no more than I have to explain about what I’m willing to pay extra to get. It’s the beauty of a free non government controlled market.

We get to make our own decisions with our money Well for as long as can keep people from voting our rights & decision making ability over to a socialist type government.
