2019 Ram Limited vs 2019 F150 Limited vs 2019 Silverado High Country

https://www.caranddriver.com/reviews/2019-ford-f-150-vs-chevrolet-silverado-vs-ram-1500-pickup

3rd Place = Chevy. Disliked the ride, interior, and value
2nd Place = Ford. Worse ride/control when towing than Ram and slightly worse interior
1st place = Ram. Worst performance and the heaviest

Another solid comparison victory goes to the 5th gen Ram.

How is the Ram so much heavier... 6102 lb versus 55xx lb for the other two?

Rams have always been heavier, which i don't mind.

Less aluminum sheet metal. Ramboxes. Air ride. 33 gal tank, cast iron block v8, and nicer interior components all add up...

I think that is the heaviest curb weight i've seen though

GM trucks have always been on the lighter side and Rams to the heavier side. That said being heavier is not all bad, you get more stable towing and hopefully some heavier duty components.

GM's cost cutting is going to kick them in the face with the cheap interiors. I could see going that route if your going to offer a cheaper truck but you can't charge 70 Grand for a truck that has basically a work truck interior with some hard leather seats.

Would they have put these trucks on a scale? Surely they aren't relying on numbers from a brochure.

They could be going off the door stickers. Each list available payload capacity. Subtract that from the GVWR and you get the as-configured curb weight.

Other comparisons do actually weigh the trucks.

I guess 6102 lbs makes sense after looking at the sticker price in the article: $69,190... which means that Limited was fully optioned.

My buddy bought a GMC Denali a couple weeks before my Longhorn. He paid substantially more for substantially less!

I like a slightly heavier vehicle for the smoother ride as I use my truck predominately for family travel and city driving. I love the comment in the article “it looks like a Mercedes S class exploded” in the ram cab! :D

I LOVE my truck and all my buddies are trying hard to find a way to get one!
