Purchased a new Ram on 6/14/19 a beautiful truck took a family trip from northern ca to southern ca on our way back 6/22/19 a whole 1259 miles on the odometer things south!

My wife was driving didn’t pay to much attention figured it was the road. Then my wife mentioned it about the rough ride. The truck went into I’m guessing limp mode wouldn’t accelerate shake pretty violently after a bit. Noticed the flashing CEL Pulled over turned it off and looked for nearest dealership turned truck on was idling fine decided to limp it to dealer 20 miles.

When arrived the truck was ticking loudly and shaking to the point the service advisors were in shock the rpms were all over the place. They replaced MDS solenoid and problem still persisted

Anyone else experience this?

Won’t have a definite answer till Monday now driving a loaner truck up home as my wife and both need to be at work Monday.

Such a beautiful truck disappointed to say the least.

That really sucks. Sorry to hear. Let us know what happens. Message @RamCares so they can document and escalate if necessary. Hopefully they get it resolved quickly but if the dealer can’t diagnose then maybe FCA can get involved.

Thanks I hope so as well, do you think I’d be able to get it towed to my home and loaner picked up?
I’ve never to deal with something like this.

Dreading having to drive 325 miles to pick up my truck.

Hate to hear this. Hope your trip wasn't totally ruined. Good luck with the repair.

Ram should pay to have your truck towed back to your house once the repair is completed and they should either tow or pickup your loaner. They should figure out the logistics in doing that. No way you should have to be inconvenienced any further. That’s another reason I would open a case with customer service and @RamCares because the dealer may or may not give you the answer you want to hear and Ram/FCA might need to step in to make sure this is handled correctly. I have always had the best results by keeping calm, being reasonable, but being firm. Good luck and keep us posted.

Hoping to hear back from dealer sometime today, in the meantime I contacted Ram customer service and explained to them what happened. The person helping me was like I would be very frustrated if I was you:D. No reason to get upset at someone and yell at them over the phone, I just requested to have my truck towed up to me and loaner returned as that’s a 650 mile trip. Should here back from a case manager in about a day or so.

Hi Bigjb1987,
We are sorry to hear about your experience. It seems as though you are already being connected with the team we would normally escalate to, however, if you need any assistance getting in contact with your case manager, please let us know!

Update: still no closer to knowing what’s wrong with my truck, service advisor and case manager saying they are still running test but can figure it out. I’m ready to just get a buyout. July 22nd is the day. Lol

Update: finally after 18 days at the dealer the found the issue. Service advisor said a broken/cracked spring which then led to bent push rod. I will ask more questions about this when I’m off, I asked if the did an oil change, he then replied no I said I think of would only make sense to change oil Incase any fine metal particulates were introduced when all this happened. I could be wrong but it made sense to me to just change the oil.

Other issue now is getting my truck shipped delivered to me, I’d pick it up if they throw on some running boards on for me

Good to hear they figured it out. Sucks a $2 spring caused all these issues.

Hopefully no further damage was sustained and they get that oil change done as well just to be safe.
