Humor : Driving off pavement and raising a dust is "irresponsible behavior" per the British advertising standards authority

This is perhaps a little off-topic but funny enough to share as it does pertain to off-roading : " The regulator barred two ads, first released in a 2020 campaign: a poster and a video shown on social media, where dozens of Toyota Hilux cars drive across off-road terrain, including a river...

Hit a rock, damaged an electrical connector

I was driving in the mountains the other day ( went snow-shoeing with my 10yr old ). On our way home I drove over some object on the road, which I never saw, but heard a loud BANG under the truck, looked in the rear view mirror and saw what I assume was a rock spinning back up the highway...

Oil Change by dealer = oil drips on my garage floor

I had my first oil change on my '22 Rebel EcoD. I did it at ~2700 miles. I know opinions vary on first oil change being early, but anyway, I did it. I also sent off a sample to Blackstone labs, still waiting on getting that back. I ordered their pump and drew sample through the dip stick. I...

Why does my truck 'fish-tail' so easily on gravel roads ?

Just spent a weekend camping on Steens Mtn in south eastern Oregon. Lots of driving on gravel roads. The main loop road up and over the mountain is a 59 mile stretch. It is a fairly decent gravel road,it is posted for 35mph speed limit and while you wouldn't want to take some of the sharper...

First towing impression, small utility trailer

I have a small utility trailer, single axle, 8x5. Weighs ~ 800 lbs empty and has a GVWR of ~ 2900 lbs. I've towed it a lot with my '07 Subaru Outback XT which handles it fine. Truth be told, a couple of times I've probably had more on it than I should have done with the Subaru towing it...

Grab bar handle trim piece loose

Has anybody else seen an issue with the grab bar handles as shown in the attached picture. In my case it's on the rear seat drivers side. I think it's called the "B Pillar" where it's attached. Anyway, the grab bar is screwed into the frame and there's a little trim piece to cover the screw...

Surround View Camera system - worth getting ?

I'm close to 'pulling the trigger' on ordering a '22 Rebel. What I've selected so far is 5.7 Hemi eTorque | Elec shift on demand transfer case | 33 gal tank | Level B package | Comfort & Conv Package | Mopar Side Steps | Mopar Bed liner | U Connect 5 with Nav | Trailer Brake controller...

    Truck newbie, still searching

Hi everyone, I'm new to pickup trucks, coming from a 2007 Subaru outback XT ( awesome car to drive, but it's cost me plenty, but that's a whole other thread !) Why do I think I need a truck ? I live in the country, have a few lambs each year, haul in hay for them. Go out to the forest ( I live...
