    TRX trim levels speculation thread

I'm betting RAM will offer a "lite" version from the factory. Either with the standard 5.7 or the SRT 6.4. with everything else being standard TRX (body, suspension, drive modes, etc). The ~480hp 6.4 is my bet so that they can one-up the current Raptor. This "lite" version will be the one to...

PSA: Mopar lift with ORP springs rubbing/clunk

Started getting a clunking sound over certain bumps in the road. This was after a pretty good off road session sliding down a rock shelf on my rock sliders. May or may not have been related though. Was worried it was the ball joints going out already from the lift. Inspected and tested the ball...

Got the family out over the weekend

Weather was great and we decided at the last minute to head out in our "back yard" to enjoy the outdoors. We found a great spot to cook some food over a fire and do some hiking. Got our SxS out too. Here is me doing my best rally driver impression with my son riding shotgun.

Anyone locate the transmission breather tube?

I've found the breather tube/vent line for the rear and front diff. Also for the transfer case. I can't seem to find the one for the transmission though. I only spent a minute under the truck looking but figured I'd ask here. Google wasn't able to help with our ZF8 speeds. I even looked at my...

    No locker. No problem.

This is a long video. Feel free to skip around. Not having a spotter made this take way longer. I find it interesting that I did not get the "4x4 overheat message" this entire trip like I did on my last outing. Even though I was way harder on the 4wd this time. Maybe there is break in period...

Mopar Lift with ORP springs installed and measured.

I haven't seen an actual answer to this so I figured I'd post it. Today I installed the ORP springs onto my updated Mopar lift. It measured as a 1.5" (D) 1.75" (P) increase over my non-ORP springs. It's now basically perfectly level. Does seem to ride a little stiffer, but I'm not 100% sure on...

    Overheating the 4x4 system

Went out today to do some more exploring with my son. Was wet and muddy. Ended up getting a message on my dash that the 4wd system had overheated and that 4wd performance is reduced. In the video you can see that the truck basically keeps switching back and forth to 2wd mode at around the 3:18...

Took an angle grinder to my bumper

My Xmas project was to add some more clearance to the front of the truck. I’ve already scraped it a few times. I didn’t like any of the aftermarket bumpers available for the truck. I also didn’t like the added weight they bring since I’ve already added like 500 pounds to the truck and it’s...

Does the ORP springs have a stiffer spring rate?

My understanding is that you can use the ORP springs on the Mopar kit (I already have the updated mopar kit installed). 2 questions: 1. I've only seen people install the ORP spring on the front of the Mopar kit for more of a level look. I assume the rear ORP spring will work too...? 2. Does...

    Rock sliders installed

Instructions were lacking in some important details. But my son and I got the job done. I’d say this was more of a pain than the hidden winch mount install (which was pretty straight forward). Added some grip tape for when they are used as steps. 300 pounds of protection:

    RAM 1500 Snow Day

We got some good snow over thanksgiving so it was time to see how well the truck did in the snow and the big mud it created when it melted. The mud ended up being worse than the snow. A few things I tested was my new tire deflater valves and my Smitty air compressor. The valves still required...

More Arizona weekend adventures part 3

Still exploring my new back country and this truck. Found tons of new trails today. Rock sliders should be here by mid December along with the snow. So happy with this truck. It’s more capable than most people will ever need.

Pics and Video from Arizona Part 2

Went out on some trails today in my local national forest to scout some out of the way camping sites. Winch provides a big safety net when you're alone out in the middle of no where. Did not see a single vehicle the 6 hours I was out there. It's always hard to tell how challenging some of these...

    Pics from Arizona

Son and I went exploring the other day in Prescott National Forest. Which is about 10 minutes from my house.

Check your doors for alignment. Quality Control

So I noticed after a wash that my rear crew cab doors don’t match. Add this to the list. Passenger side seems fine. This is the top back corner. This is the driver side. The whole top back corner is sunk in. No accidents or anything like that. I’m sure I drove it off the lot like this...

Added wireless Qi charging for $30

So the mopar kit is $250 and requires coding from the dealer. Not to mention taking the console apart. Something that I wanted to avoid if at all possible. Picked up a quick charging capable Qi charger for $30 at Target instead. Pictures speak for themselves, but a few notes: - USB ports on...

Any options out for rock rails/sliders yet?

Been searching for awhile, but no one seems to have any yet. I'm surprised none came out for SEMA.

Gold Mine trail up in Big Bear

Took the family out for a light drive. It’s a 20 mile loop up in Big Bear, Ca. My girl was taking pictures of the scenery while I was focusing more on the truck haha.
