OP, the reason your truck does this is because when it’s locked in 4WD the 2 front wheels aren’t able to turn at different speeds (no differential). This causes the symptoms you are talking about and is 100% normal in a 4WD truck.

It might be cheaper/easier if you transferred the lease to him and then he could buy it out. Who is your leasing company?

It definitely had a time based factor in my 2013 Mustang and 2015 Silverado. Next time you let your vehicle sit for a week or so, check your oil life before and after. It should tick down when you don’t drive it.

Thanks for the replies everyone! I believe I changed the oil in March of 2020. I do have records of the oil change but they are literally in the back of my closet with a crap ton of stuff in front of it (will have to dig for it).
I’m kind of surprised dodge didn’t put a time component on the...
Question - does anyone know if the oil life system accounts for time? With me not driving much during COVID, I most likely won’t hit the 10,000 miles between oil changes. I will most likely be changing at a year. However, I can’t recall when I changed the oil last and was wondering if the oil...
Was curious if this has happened to anyone else...
I noticed a good sized puddle underneath my truck yesterday, it was bone dry out - figured it was water from the AC. Upon further inspection when I got home it was definitely motor oil! I put the truck on the highest air ride setting and...
My vented/heated seats only turn on when the outside temperature is hot or cold enough. For instance if it a 70 degrees out my ventilated seats don’t turn on but if it’s 90 degrees they do turn on. Maybe that is what you are describing?

For your future reference, I got a loaded up Laramie, 60k MSRP, leased it for $588/month 36 mo/12k a year, $1500 due at signing. That was a pretty good deal!

Lease programs change month to month you really won’t know until the truck arrives.
I would maybe get them to agree to a certain dealer discount (ie 10% or whatever) right off the bat. And then add in whatever the program for the month is.
It’s definitely a gamble imo.

Am I the only one that doesn’t see a problem here? I think it’s good practice to test drive a vehicle after replacing parts. They didn’t abuse the vehicle and 6 miles is pretty reasonable for a test. Yea they picked someone up but to me they were killing 2 birds with one stone.
I bet you would...
I have had both, I would say it depends on the use of your truck.
My only complaint about the bed rug is it holds fines (2A dust) and mulch. I built my paver patio and my bed rug saw multiple pallets, loads of stone, and loads of sand. Looked brand new after washing it. I could probably wash...
I'm not sure how your GM has never been in the dealership. My 2015 Silverado had at least 3 recalls in went in for. I had some other issues on top of that. I would buy a GM again when they get their act together with the interior. But if my Ram continues to be trouble free, I will definitely be...
I would maybe take a decibel reading and then find some sort of standard for allowable decibels. Hopefully, the decibel exceeds the standard. The other point I would argue is that you bought this truck for the quiet cabin, maybe find some Ram literature where they emphasized that.

It does sound suspension related. Can you crawl under the truck and look around for any leaks or obvious broken parts.
