Not all locks can have the battery changed from the outside 🤷‍♂️ To each their own, just offering some perspective.

At that age/mileage id look for excessive rust on the undercarriage and suspension components. It certainly wont be clean but if its already flaking and falling apart then its just a problem youll have to address sooner.

FWIW id avoid anything electronic with locks…eventually the battery will die and murphy will be sure it happens when its least convenient. A traditional key or 3 number combo lock will probably serve you best.

When i had my Gladiator i struggled for a long time before putting mug flaps on it because they just stuck out like a sore thumb…thankfully the flaps look great on full size trucks.

I had to rent a few trucks this summer while mine was in the body shop and drove a 2500 for a few weeks. After driving it for a little while I really like the stance and just the way the truck drives overall, even compared to the 1500. The power and the towing were very similar between the two...

These last couple comments, combined with my kids saying they felt less room in the back, are pretty much the last nail in the coffin for this truck. The search continues. Though id still love hear from anyone with experience towing with their kiddos in the back seat of a 2500.

Whats amazing is that while looking at 2500s today my wife asked about chevy/gm/ford HDs. I told her i didn’t trust the chevys or fords after having them as work trucks, and GMs are still crazy expensive used. Ill add this bit of info as the cherry on top of my concerns with chevy/gm.
