Maybe I stated it awkwardly, but when closed the thermostat forces coolant to recirculate through a bypass, keeping heat in the engine, until it is hot enough to open and allow flow somewhere else, like radiator. It's just an inversion of perspective, no biggie.
Yeah the thermostat only controls flow through the block and heads. I had an old Cheyenne that would never get up to temp and couldn't get any heat in the winter. Eventually figured out there was just way too much bypass flow going through the heater, and installed an adjustable valve to...
The ANC module is an expensive little piece of tech that we all had to pay for, and some of us just toss as if we didn't want it or ask for it. I installed one of the popular bypass cables on mine, don't remember exactly which one, but after bypassing there is no longer anything connected to...
My tach has no redline, so it must all be okay, right? ;)
But really, I try to keep the revs under 4,000, and I'm okay with slowing down a little, AFAIK 45MPH is still legal most places.
And sure it will make more power if it absolutely has to.
It's really unusual for wire to fail, unless it's been chewed by mice or nicked with a sawzall. You sure you don't have a junction box hid in the wall or attic? It's usually the wire nuts. I hate wire nuts.
No relation, eh? ;)
The line of thought I was having is that a lot of cities get their water from rivers. Filtering can remove sediment and bacteria, but I wouldn't expect it to have much effect at the molecular level. So what do they do if the river contains psychoactive chemicals, some of...
Some of us think so. RCI makes some that look decent and others on here have installed them. I have too many other projects happening all at the same time to deal with it right now, but the active dam is likely to go away on mine at some point, and I'll probably be inspired to look at skid...
My previous employment tasked me with (among other things) running a Linux mail and file server, so yeah I'm a fan of operating systems that just sit there and work for like years at a time with no operator attention.
We used Ubuntu, which has a large user base, and there's usually someone who...
TRX has more lift and travel. And doesn't it have the Dana axle? I may be wrong about that, but I'd think the Ram/Rebel kit would be a better fit.

You could contact Timber Grove and ask their opinion.

We're not all looking for "performance gain", which basically is nothing more than burning fuel at a higher rate. I'm quite satisfied with the amount of power my truck is capable of in its stock condition. Those who have experienced the apparently common cracked manifold situation are going to...
Got an email from these folks today, looks like they may be releasing an exhaust manifold kit for the DT 5.7 hemis.

Maybe some good news. :)
Internal combustion engine makes power from heat expanding gases, and hotter makes more efficient. They're pushing for tiny improvements in fleet MPG, etc.
