    Retrofitting the 33 gallon tank

Huh. I guess I need to do some reading. The small tank is the only thing I really don't like about my truck, and I've half-assed thought about trying to trade it on a new one at the end of this year, to get a 33g tank. If it can be done for around a thousand bucks, I may just do that instead.

Post your avg MPG on your Rebel

Same route, another 2 tanks worth of fuel, and still driving like grandpa, which includes sometimes just setting the cruise at 51mph where eco is engaged and no one is in sight. 87 octane this time, and hand calculated at a hair under 20mpg. I think on my next fillup, I'll go back to normal...

Post your avg MPG on your Rebel

Funny. I've been through two tanks since I posted that, driving like grandpa for the most part. Filled at near empty, reset the mileage and economy computers, and hand calculated both fill ups. This time around, I'm averaging 19.2mpg, computer shows 18.1. Same driving and routes as when I...

Post your avg MPG on your Rebel

Hand calculated and normal driving of mostly flat country backroads, I'm getting ~15.5 whether I use 87 or 89 octane. Driving hard it drops down to 13. Trying like hell driving to get good mileage, I get 17. I do almost zero city driving, but a quite a bit of country road and occasional...

    Poor gas mileage

Filled up last night, 3 tanks worth of Chevron 89 octane. Digital display was 18.8, hand calculated was 17.5 It wouldn't be near-universally known as a lie-o-meter if it was that accurate for most people.

    Poor gas mileage

Eh. I've had a bunch of Ram trucks and not one has ever been accurate. Common consensus is that they are generally 1-3mpg optimistic over hand calculated. I don't even care about competitive. I would be happy with 15mpg if it was advertised as such. Being lied to is what I don't like. I...

    Poor gas mileage

I'm getting 18.0 by the computer with the second 89 octane fillup. Mostly side road flat country driving at ~55mph, very little city or freeway time. I suspect hand calculated will show at least 1mpg less. I'd be happy as hell to average 20+

This thread sure went off the rails.

    2022 Rebel Low Differential Fluid

I agree. Much better to have it be a big problem now, instead of a big problem outside of warranty. Should be a fairly easy fix.

    Poor gas mileage

What is the reason folks say using cruise control kills fuel mileage?

    Actual mpgs

2021 Rebel, <5,000miles, I drove the last tank like grandpa and spent a lot of time at ~53mph, as it reads 24 or so mpg there. Almost all highway driving for 350 miles, I got a hand calculated 17mpg even. The computer said 18.4mpg. All on 87 octane. I've gotten hand calculated 16's pretty...

    2022 Rebel Low Differential Fluid

On my high mileage truck, I just made it a habit to add in diff and T-case checks on my monthly oil and coolant checks. I wound up having to put a new transfer case in because it developed a leak and got dry inside and I didn't pay attention to it. 3 minutes a month is easy insurance. I...

    Price negotiated from MSRP

There's a good chance I'll buy from MD in a year or two when I go to upgrade. I have no problem flying out and making a several day long road trip adventure back home, if it saves me 7 or 8 grand.

I'm impressed that they called you and offered a real repair that quickly and easily. You may have found a good service department!

    Price negotiated from MSRP

I used the Ram website to build a couple of trucks while drinking coffee this morning and the price is definitely not accurate. It made me happy I grabbed my '21 Rebel for the price I got it for though!

    Price negotiated from MSRP

Yea, they had 4 identical except for color Rebels on the lot when I went. I had gone to Elk Grove first and test drove a few trucks, thinking I wanted a lower cost Bighorn. First one I drove I was ok with but didn't love, and it had the 3.23 rear and big fuel tank. The second one I drove had...

    Price negotiated from MSRP

Weird. I looked around in Sacramento area and all of the Rebels I found were reasonable. Wound up buying from Hoblit for 2500 under. I wish I had the 33 gallon tank, and the non-etorque, but I still love the truck. I'll just need to bring extra fuel on hunt trips. I overpaid for the "bumper...

    Oil analysis report.

Extended service intervals is one huge one. 3 gallons of Schaeffers isn't cheap, and if they're testing it and letting you safely get 11-12000 miles between changes, because you know what's in the oil and what's left in it, you're halving your oil change frequency. It also detects all sorts of...

    Oil analysis report.

Blackstone Labs is rad. I've been sending them oil samples for all my vehicles for years, every 10k miles. They've saved me loads of money.
