    Price negotiated from MSRP

Check with Hoblit in Woodland. It isn't southern California, but it's right by Sacramento airport. Their prices are typically pretty competitive with some of the better priced places I've seen around the country.

An Engineer's Ultimate Guide To 3.21 VS 3.92 Axle Ratio

    I've had a 59 with a 4 speed poly 318, a '60 with a 383, and a 71 with a 440. I'd have been happy with 8mpg in any of them. :ROFLMAO:

An Engineer's Ultimate Guide To 3.21 VS 3.92 Axle Ratio

Just goes to show, the 3.21 guys and gals are of an elevated intelligence over the 3.92 plebes!

An Engineer's Ultimate Guide To 3.21 VS 3.92 Axle Ratio

Finished a 1200 mile desert trek last week. Didn't have to stop to pour gas cans in between fuel stations like I did every time with the Rebel. Hell, still had a quarter tank when I got to the next fuel stop. Not having to haul additional fuel makes this truck much more useful. Plus, now I...

    Another MPG thread

I just got back from a 1200 mile trip in my brand new '23 Bighorn with 3.21s. Got a hand calculated 20.5mpg on the whole trip. Several sea level to 5k' elevation changes, some 4x4 time going to elk camp, and hauling a dead elk home last night. A little bit of city but mostly highway at...

The yellow one hauling that trailer out makes me laugh. Good for him. :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO:

The TRX doesn't have 3.92s does it?

Mopar will 'give' me $5000 if I cancel my extended warranty

Eh, the N* was a fantastic engine design for the time when it was designed. Known and expected oil consumption is not an issue, just like using DEF in modern diesel engines isn't an issue and replacing worn brake and suspension components isn't an issue. Proper maintenance on a known and...

Mopar will 'give' me $5000 if I cancel my extended warranty

With the Northstar I assume? It was normal to burn one quart and GM was very vocal about that. I've never heard or see them say that three quarts was normal.

Well, I wear an 18. Which is why I don't need to make up for anything with 3.92s.

An Engineer's Ultimate Guide To 3.21 VS 3.92 Axle Ratio

Very cool. Love the black one! I had a '69 with a 383 and a '71 Adventurer, along with my 60 in the photo above and another 60 that kept the Poly. I was young and wanted to race and do burnouts all the time. I still do, but not so much with my daily driver, which that '60 was for a year and...

An Engineer's Ultimate Guide To 3.21 VS 3.92 Axle Ratio

You pansies with the 3.92s should have looked at some 4.10 gears if you wanted a real truck. A 440 and a 4 speed were a little improvement over this 'ol 318 Poly truck of mine many many years ago. And it still got a solid 12 mpg.

An Engineer's Ultimate Guide To 3.21 VS 3.92 Axle Ratio

I do like some good mountain hooch! I thought about a Prius, since it has the range to get me across all of eastern Oregon and north Nevada without running out of fuel, but I can haul more ammo in the extra 9 inches I'm now packing. :ROFLMAO: I did take a '94 Accord elk hunting once...

An Engineer's Ultimate Guide To 3.21 VS 3.92 Axle Ratio

If you don't see how a longer bed, better fuel mileage, and a bigger fuel tank giving an extra hundred miles of range without refueling are more useful then you don't use a truck like a truck. Your TRX is badass and I'd love to have one to use as a toy, but it isn't capable of doing what I need...

An Engineer's Ultimate Guide To 3.21 VS 3.92 Axle Ratio

Yep. I was concerned I'd lose some of the fun, but on the test drive it felt pretty much the same. I don't haul nearly often enough to worry about it, as long as it's still fun to drive while being much more useful of a truck.
