Mine will go up to mid 220s when slow rolling uphill in dirt/rocks in 4wd. Fan turns on high and it drops back down to two hundred teens. Made me nervous the first time I saw it, but it's been fine and consistent.
Yes, 3.21 rear. If I had driven the Rebel I traded in on this one, it would have been significantly worse. Rebel looks cooler, but saving hundreds of dollars per month is better. At least for where I am in my financial world. The guys that don't care about fuel costs "because I bought a...
I looked it up after writing that. They're asking almost 10k more than I paid for my 2023. It's a V6 truck, and the one I wound up buying is a Hemi. I would have preferred the V6 actually, but I'm not paying WAY more for minimal fuel savings.
That's what I'll do, but I may as well get the "Free" cheapo battery. I can use it in the old Bronco. And I'd like the potential corrosion issues documented in case it turns out to be something worse later on down the road. Thanks for the link, I'll read up. I plan on using an Interstate H8...
Trip completed. Wound up doing 4025 miles in 65 hours and 12 minutes, making the average speed at about 61mph. That includes all of the idle time, in town driving, shopping, etc, and a little bit of off road time. Also, a +100mph run on a closed place where it is perfectly legal to do so...
I found a 2022 on a lot on the other side of the country that had everything I wanted. Contacted the dealership for a quote and to let them know I was very interested and would fly out the following week and drive it home if we could work a deal. They were COMPLETELY unwilling to negotiate on...
Funny. I drive from Pendleton area to Redding area frequently and I very consistently, with every vehicle I've had over the years, get a couple mpg better going south on the trip than I do going north. Not sure why, as the elevation changes are pretty similar going both ways and I don't think I...
Just noticed my brand new truck with 3500 miles has this, but brighter and bigger. Guess I oughta run it to the dealer and have them do some replacements.
If the weather is good on the week I'm trying to do it, I'll be doing a ~4500 mile trip that will be about 98% freeway at 75+ from California to Missouri and back, with some side trips. I'll keep track of all the data and report back. :D Truck is brand new, just did the first oil change at...
I live kinda in the middle of nowhere, and if I keep the speed in the high 40s/low 50s for an extended length, the readout will say mid to high 20s. I've played around with it out of curiosity and kept it that high for 50+ miles, but it's an unrealistic speed to stay at in almost any conditions...
The difference in 17 and 20 mpg is a $264/month difference at current fuel prices, for the amount of driving I do. That's not insignificant.
If I only drove it on Sundays I wouldn't care at all. My Challenger gets less than 10 and my Bronco gets right at 10 and I don't complain one bit. But...
Yep. Folks who don't need more than the small bed like them just fine. I "downgraded" to a Bighorn with the 6'4" bed and it's been WAY better for me in day to day use. It can fit a water trough without having to tie it down, it fits all my desert off road trip gear without tiedowns, my feet...
I'm at a little over 3000 on my '23, getting a hand calculated 19.7mpg after a couple of freeway road trips and hunting trips in the last month. Happy with that, and it will likely improve over time, if my previous truck and anecdotes read here are any indication.
Considering what we get out of modern vehicles, the prices, even with inflation, aren't all that ridiculous. I paid ~42k for my Bighorn, and had a quote from Mark Dodge that was a few thousand more for a '24 set up exactly how I wanted it but I didn't want to wait for it to get built. It's a...
None of the configurations I was trying to order over the summer were available with the 33 gallon tank in a 2023 model, although in the 2022's and earlier they were.
Can you get the 33 gallon tank with the little short Rebel bed? I remember reading somewhere here that the bigger fuel tank was only going to be available for orders, not for trucks going to dealers that don't have a deposit down on them yet. But I could remember that wrong.
I've just got the base level sound system and would like any sort of upgrade. It isn't horrific, but while doing 80mph down the freeway with the windows down, it isn't loud enough to sing along to. I don't want to spend a bunch of money or do a bunch of dash removal so I may just have to live...
