    Loses radio stations

Crap. This just started happening to me friday, I left the car at the dealer for 4 days with a list of things to fix. (Not radio related) and when I picked it up all my presets were gone and the CLOCK display on the 12” screen was off. I assumed they updated the software but ?? Maybe it was...

Exhoust Electric Cutout installed and sound

I got my QTP installed today, took about 4 hours start to finish, since I hit a few hurdles along the way. I used the Ram 1500 kit #520019 and the Remote Control #10900. Total shipped to me was $420 including tax/shipping after a $25 coupon from Jeg's. Let me first say I had every intention...

Ignition on wire under drivers seat? (factory amp harness?)

Apologies, I did a search and couldn't find the answer. Anyone identify an igntion on (instead of always hot) +12v wire I can tap into at the amplifier under the driver's seat? I thought the forward large red wire was, but must have been bad checking on my part as it seems to be always on.

Self parking does not work and dealer cannot fix it.

You aren't missing much - I think I've used it 3 times now to demonstrate to friends, and each time it took a comical amount of time to complete the process... But it did work.

The internet causes truck terminal illness...and other things that baffle me

Oh, fine, let's derail entirely. This doesn't make any sense. If you bought a new house, and the A/C didn't work right, the skylights leaked and ruined your carpets, and the doors weren't installed properly letting wind in... you would sue the builder and win. The people letting Ram off the...

The internet causes truck terminal illness...and other things that baffle me

What baffles me is how people pay $50,000 for something and then think it is ok for it to have all kinds of problems.

    Weird AC recirculating air noise.

@RamCares Keep YOU updated? https://5thgenrams.com/community/threads/the-intermittent-a-c-noise-on-the-highway-i-timed-it-looks-intentional.11282/#post-156878 Jasmine, what would be useful, is that as a Ram employee, if you could follow whatever escalation path you have to ask someone at Ram...

    Revolver X2/X4 or Truxedo Sentry/CT?

It'll be hard finding people that can compare them directly - I just installed a Sentry CT and I'd say the appearance and fit was great. Security-wise, I'd have to give it a C-. I can definitely lift the back of the cover enough to get my hand in there. If I wasn't worried about damaging the...

    Choosing Best Tonneau Cover

I just put on a Truxedo Sentry CT last night, and I am pretty happy with it out of the box. This is a “rolling hard cover” like the bakflip revolver x4. Surface on this one is a woven twill sort of like a convertible top. Only took 20 mins to install solo and while it was a tight fit, I had no...

The intermittent A/C noise on the highway - I timed it, looks intentional

So in fresh air mode, the door shifted to recirc (and it got quiet) for 50 seconds? I don’t see how it couldn’t be by design. The timing is too precise. If it was for a random amount of time on a random cadence it’s be different. But once I timed it and paid attention it was dead on schedule...

The intermittent A/C noise on the highway - I timed it, looks intentional

Sorry, let me clarify - I have the 12" screen and the fully automatic temperature controls, but my system was still in normal choose-a-temperature mode, not "auto" mode selected. I think this is normal. The fact that it happens 4 times an hour for exactly the same length of time makes me...

The intermittent A/C noise on the highway - I timed it, looks intentional

This topic comes up every so often - the intermittent "wind leak" noise you hear on the highway. After some testing, It looks to me like this is functioning as designed when the A/C system is running in recirc mode. I had a 3 hour road trip and timed it, here were my findings: - Noise is most...

    A/C Performance

I made a similar comment a few months back - after taking my truck in for my 2nd service and fighting with the service adviser about some TSBs (none A/C related) I noticed that my A/C was marginally better and I noticed my electric cooling fans seemed to be running on high MUCH more this summer...

    Air conditioning Hack

Good. I hope Ram pays attention this time. I ordered an inspection camera, in the hopes that I can see the blend door itself. That may or may not be possible, but worth a shot.

    Black Plastics Fading

My Laramie sport just turned 1 year old, that was one of my concerns but so far the hood inserts are holding up well in a year of Florida sun.

AC - does anyone have a truck that blows ice cold?

Riccnick, now go clamp off your heater core line (which takes about 2 minutes) and then drive around in your truck for 10 minutes and tell us if the A/C feels any different. I absolutely agree with scientific measurements of the temps etc. However, I can tell you that of the 3 cars in my...

AC - does anyone have a truck that blows ice cold?

Here’s where you are wrong. If we have a member who believes his truck cooling is satisfactory, and gets good temps out of the vents, and then tries clamping off the heater core - we will either see a big drop in temperature, or we won’t. If there is no drop in temp, then we know his blend...

    Air conditioning performance

I was the OP on this thread and have been living with mediocre A/C for a year. There’s no reason to give Ram a pass on this one. For those of us with A/C problems, the blend door or airbox design appears to have problems. Stopping the flow of coolant to the heater core results in ice cold...

    Warranty offer

Yes. There are infinite horror stories about aftermarket warranties, including a huge national company that sold tens of thousands of plans - and then went belly up. YMMV but I would never buy a non-FCA warranty, especially if they’re in the same price ballpark. I’ve had good experiences...

    Warranty offer

Make sure you are getting a legit “maximum care” warranty. That sounds like a good price for the 84/75k. They are not doing anything special for you - Mopar offers a wide range of plans. Personally I would go for the $100 deductible plan, IIRC it only costs $150 or so more, which means if you...
