Windshield wiper arm nut torque value

Yes, I applied the 18 lb ft torque to both nuts. After marking the nuts to the shafts with a sharpie, the driver's side turned about 1/8th of a turn, and the passenger side about 1/16th.

    12 inch Uconnect update????

For the wiper arm recall, are you torquing the nuts to 18 lb ft, or just the 1/4 turn?

    Tailgate Alignment

This is a very common condition with the Rambox bed. I had the same situation with my tailgate, and posted a fix by using a rubber bumper inserted in the right side hinge. This keep the tailgate "centered" in any position, not just when it's closed as the hose washer fix does. If you were to...

    Rubber Door Bumpers

I checked my door bumpers, and they "spin" also. I don't have the hollow door sound, but did have to adjust the strikers on the rear doors due to the bottom corners sticking out a bit. Please post the results you notice after replacing the bumpers, and how you removed the ones already installed...

    Rubber Door Bumpers

What do you feel is wrong with the door bumpers?

Windshield wiper arm nut torque value

Awesome!! Thank you very much for the info. I wonder why the FCA recall does not state to just "check the torque" instead of "tighten nut 1/4 turn"? Seems like it could avoid potential stripping, etc.

Windshield wiper arm nut torque value

Does anyone know if there is a torque value for the wiper arm nut on a 2019 RAM? I know the recall states to "turn the nut an additional 1/4 (90 degree) turn, but if it's already within specs, I feel it may put too much strain on the bolt / threads. I'm sure there must be a specification...

MOPAR wheel-to-wheel side steps for 2020 Crew Cab Short bed - & MOPAR Accessories web page?

It sounds like they are for the "classic" body style. I had to install the weld nuts on my 2014 when I installed side steps. I've had to order a few replacement parts for my 2019, and have had to have the parts guys look up the numbers as some of them are not even in the parts book yet. Sound...

AVS Color Matched Aeroskin Hood Protector 2020 RAM 1500 EcoDiesel Limited 4x4

Looks good, but they are notorious for lifting off at the ends over time. There are many reviews online of such events. I like the look, and was going to get a chrome one, but after researching, decided against it. Keep a close eye on it.

    Interior Panel Trim Clips

Glad to help. Years ago, when I was into model RC cars, it was the "go to" product for quick repairs after an unfortunate crash! Just dry fit, and hold the pieces together to be repaired; then apply sparingly using the brush attached to the cap. The liquid will be drawn into the crack; continue...

    Interior Panel Trim Clips

You can glue the plastic tabs back onto the panels using "Ambroid Pro Weld". This is a clear liquid adhesive that actually "welds" the plastic when applied to two parts held together, by capillary action. I've been using it for decades with excellent results.

    Limited center console cupholder"cover"

There is a post on this somewhere, but I don't remember the title. It's expensive, as the cup holder / lid part is near $500.00, and the lower part, near $40.00 or so. Add tax + shipping and it can get costly.

    Drilling into truck bed

After drilling a hole in painted sheet metal, I always apply RTV Silicone in, and around the edge of the hole with a toothpick (small dab on the end), then insert the screw / bolt. In over 35yrs of doing this, I have never had any rust issues.

    Steering wheel alignment

Secure steering wheel in "center" position, then adjust Caster, Camber, Toe; in that order for a perfect alignment. It's normal for a steering wheel to be slightly off center depending on the crown of the road; Right crown / wheel off to the Left, and Left Crown / wheel off to the Right. This...

Rear view mirror plastic housing not flush against windshield

Excellent! Yes, removing the small cover for the first time is nerve racking indeed, but becomes second nature thereafter. I've had to remove my cover quite a few times to diagnose and eliminate an annoying "click/tick" noise coming from the cover area. Yesterday, I removed it for the final time...

Awesome!! Glad we could help. Was it the harness that I had mentioned?

Rear view mirror plastic housing not flush against windshield

Also, I have removed the mirror cover on my Ram a few times, in order to diagnose a "tick/click" that was coming from the housing when the temperature was cold. I posted the topic in the "interior" section under "rearview mirror tick/click solved", and included pictures of the covers, etc. Check...

Rear view mirror plastic housing not flush against windshield

Yes, you have to remove the small cover directly in back of the mirror first. I used a spring removal tool (basically a "T" handle with a hook on the end) and pulled directly forward from the top)! Once the top is out, lift up and out. The remaining cover just pulls straight down after inserting...

Rear view mirror plastic housing not flush against windshield

I had the exact same problem with my mirror cover. The cause of the cover not being flush to the windshield on the passenger side, is a wire harness that is routed OVER the bracket contact point near the top of the windshield, instead of being routed AROUND it. This causes the cover to not sit...
