Could be a strong competitor to the Ford Maverick, however the issue is North American Production limitations. Due to the chicken tax, it has to be produced in NA somewhere to make it viable in price. Even if they can find factory to allocate production, it would be at least a few years before...
I have the original battery on my 2019, it's at least 4 years old now, but I may drive once a week, but often it maybe 10 days to 14 days before drives. Battery has never been below 12.1 volts (50%) even after 2 weeks of sitting there.
Once the battery is allowed to drain really low, even if...
Absolutely that is a fact. But I do compare it to all my other vehicles, including our newer Toyota and new Suburban, and all the other vehicles we have had in the past. None of them offered this type of blade life at this performance level, even in the same conditions. Honestly think I must...
My truck was produced in Jan 2019 and still has the original wipers. They are now over 4 years old, and still wipe my windshield squeaky clean after a couple of passes.
I live in a place that doesn't rain often and most of my wiper use is to clean the windshield, still, I've never had a set...
Join the club, CDRJ dealerships have the lowest customer ratings in regards to the service departments in the industry. I see it when I try to do the most basic of things there, and it's the only reason why I do my own oil changes on my truck, I simply don't trust the dealer to do it. First...
His issue was a collapsed lifter on his #3 cylinder. The ticking sound you heard likely isn't related if it went away with just an oil change from 20W to 30W.
They could have tuned the muffler or the resonators to give it a bit more sound. That or the exhaust supplier ran out of material and it resulted in the use of different/louder resonators and/or muffler.
I think in mid-2020, they remove the front resonator, which is located just past the catalytic converter.
There is only 1 muffler, a big drum looking thing to control the MDS drone. About 1 foot past the muffler, it breaks off into a Y (fake dual) pipe into two muffler looking resonators...
Absolutely, that's why I actually got the Maxicare Warranty even though in 7 years I probably won't even hit 50,000 miles. For the things besides powertrain, though I wished it included body seals, water intrusion and paint, which it does not.
I think he is referring to the factory powertrain warranty, which is 5 year / 60K.
However, the Maxcare applies to the 3 year / 36K bumper to bumper warranty.
That's cool, we can add a 3rd option for forum members.
For my plan, which was 72 months / 60K miles Maxcare, since I don't drive that many miles was $970 or so. Mopar was over 2K for the same plan. I got mine from Granger, but Zeigler was the same price.
Beautiful truck, love the Havoc color, also especially due to the monotone paint application, without the black trim on the bottom section. At 11-12 mpg, that's only about 1-2 less mpg than your typical Rebel driver gets.
Double check to make sure your radiator is clean, there was a previous poster who had overheating issue after buying a used 1500, turns out the radiator was packed with mud but he couldn't see it from the outside and the dealer didn't catch it.
Interesting, though my 2.7L Ecoboost was 5W-30 when I had it, I assumed for the turbos. The NA V6 is still recommended for 5W-20 in that PDF.
The 5.0L in the F150 I think was originally spec for 5W-20, so that could be the change there.
I will mention that when Ford introduced their modular engines in late 90s, they were at 5W-30. Then in year 2000, they switched to 5W-20. They even back specced previously built motors to 5W-20 even though they are no longer counted with CAFE.
Their reasoning was that the thinner oil, while...
