I’m curious, I’ve always liked the Rams especially the 5th gens. I am currently in a 2018 6.2 Silverado LTZ. Truck is great I’m just about 60k miles into ownership and 11 years with GM vehicles total. I looked at a few Laramies today while getting service at a TRI dealer(GMC/Chevy/Ram) The truck that’s grabbed my attention were the 5.7 Etorque and 3.92s today. I didn’t test drive, and it got me thinking.
My main concern is taking a step back in power and towing power. Most of you guys probably watch TFL, the Ike gauntlet or as locals really call it Eisenhower Tunnel is the gateway to my fun paradise if you will. I watched all the test, but I want first hand experience. I know I have taken Eisenhower at speed limit or above while towing. Power isn’t an issue with the 6.2. Especially when I upgraded from a 5.3.
Has anyone made the switch? Miss the 6.2 Daily Driving Power? I only tow 4-6k depending on load. Tell me your experiences.
I might make a move in the coming months. Or end up in a new F150 Ecoboost. Or 22GM. I’m keeping my options open this time around.
