EXACTLY - & believe me, u ain't getting the best rate u qualify for. They are making a point or 2 off u.
Lol if you say so. I told them I got 3.3% at my credit union. They got me 3.1%z they can’t change the rates the bank kick back to them based on your credit score debts and the questions you fill out when you apply.

No applies for a 72 month loan get pre approved for 3.4 and then the dealerships tacks in 1 point to make it 4.4 lol. They can’t do that. It’s against laws lol

Dealerships do get a kickback from the banks they deal with for using them for the loan but they can’t jack up your rate by a point or 2. Lol that’s fraud, and the rates are set by the government and the banks lol. Think you need some education in the finance department
NOT TRUE. I was going to buy a Buick Envlave a few yrs ago for my wife. 5% interest rate. Then the finance manager wanted to talk me into an extended warranty. I said no. He pushed. I said I need my payment under $300. Next thing I know my interest rate is 3.95% & he sold me that warranty & my payment stayed under $300. All other terms stayed the same. 72 month loan etc. I said to the guy how did my interest rate just go from 5 to 3.95. He said oh, sometimes we don't get the cheapest rate the 1st time we check. B.S. u can't tell me they don't make a point or 2 off of u. It ain't fraud. It's just the game they play.

u will never know what rate u actually got approved for. Why do u think so many people refinance for a lower rate ? I even told the salesman when I bought my Ram I know u guys make a percentage of my loan. He just said well, & basically avoided the question & started talking about something else.

I’m surprised people think the dealer is giving you the best rate possible. I’m not sure where it is fraud for a dealer to increase financing rates?

I just googled it. It's called FINANCE RESERVE. Google it. It clearly states dealers are the middleman doing u a service for getting u a loan. They typically get between 1% - 3% commission on your loan !!

Exactly brother. Sure are a lot of suckers out there. That's how dealerships make so much money. That's why they got the nickname stealerships from ! Lol

Never met a person who owns a dealership that isn’t a millionaire :)

I just googled car loan interest rates for May 2020. Average rate is 5% for an excellent credit score of 750 or above. This article was from U.S. News & World Report. Check it out. These people who are getting 2.9 % are either military, 1st responders, or the dealership is screwing them on their trade, or jacking up new truck price. I guarantee it !!

No they can’t. They have no control over that. Interest rates are defined by banks. Lol. Whose feeding you that bull?

Yes they can, they can and typically do add anywhere from 1-2%. Go get financing from 2 thru 3 different dealers and see if the rates are the same

This IS part of the education or educated buyer that you keep seeing mentioned throughout this thread.
This is also the reason dealers don't like educated buyers. I mangange IT for a school district, I routinely tell people "You can use the internet to look at porn or you can use it as a tool to educate yourself". Those of us that are exceptionally talented can use it for both. Lol

Hello all. Is it worth getting pre-approved via Chrysler capital prior to comparing the truck I want at different dealers? I know I’ll qualify for the 72month/0% so will that save time on negotiating a deal? Thanks in advanced.

If u get the 0% financing, then u don't get the rebate from Chrysler. U can't have both.

I'm looking at Crystal Black exterior and the Indigo/Ivory interior, don't want black so it may be the same interior you picked up but yeah, I gots no issues waiting. I'd love to have the truck right now but for this much money, I'm not settling and I don't need to rush, buying with emotion will cost you.
And yeah, dealers don't like me, had an honest salesman tell me that and some of the conversations they have in daily sales meetings. The main one that caught my attention was "We are in the Beverly Hills of of North Texas, we don't need to negotiate on sells pricing, as close to MSRP as possible". I'm in Frisco TX
I’m aware of Frisco, actually lived there 2 years (Del Webb), before moving away. Frisco and Plano are definately higher priced suburbs of DFW.
We did get the Indigo Frost, the only caution is wearing new denim and the blue dye may transfer to the leather. We don’t wear denim so no matter, but be advised that it may happen. Maybe shop up in Oklahoma, just 2 hrs away...

In Ohio dealerships can mark up interest rates up to one percent. You can ask to see the "call back" information to see what interest rate is coming from the lender, compared to the interest rate offered by the dealership. This, like everything, is negotiable.

I'm shopping ok also.
That was/is a concern with inigo, a big concern. Have you had any problems cleaning it? I may have to look into treating the leather, I know there's ceramic coat type product for leather and fabric but not sure how it wesrs.

I'm shopping every state ajoing TX, I have no issues driving 2 states away to get a truck. Currently I have about 12 in TX, 4 in West LA, 4 in OK, 2 in MO, 2 in GA. None are moving so I'm not in a hurry

Thank you , that's what uts called, the Call Back sheet, I get a lot of stuttering when I ask for it but yes, in Texas its 1 maybe 2% allowable mark up
