Hi, while I was under a brand new 2020 1500 Limited I noticed some rust on the underside. Is this something f to be concerned about or is this normal? Other than this, the underside looks pretty good.

Thanks

Not a worry. If it concerns you or you are in a salted road region, you could throw some Fluid Film underneath.

Pretty much par for the course these days; not every part is powder coated or even painted, so the bare steel stuff gets surface rust.

Mine has looked like that from the day I picked it in September 2018.

Some metals are actually designed this way the rust is a protective type layer. Sense it’s common across multiple trucks and even ones that are just picked up it’s either likely by design or it’s a major part defect. I’m guessing it’s by design mine was like this as well and that’s right from the dealer.

Your bearing caps and yoke look just like mine. I don't think it's an issue, as the metal was most likely bare metal when it left the factory. I wouldn't be concerned.

Just surface rust. Will not affect the integrity of those parts.

All trucks look like that. That is just surface rust on parts that don't rust out. I have all makes of trucks in my business and they all look like that. If you ever wash your truck and you see the rust on the disk part of the brake, it's the same thing. It's just on the surface and it won't go any further.
